Connected Devices

The connected devices sub-section is designed to record information on any network device that does not fall into the Server, Workstation or printer category. An example of this would be a router, network switch, fax server etc.

Connected devices Selection screen

The connected devices selection screen allows you to select a particular connected device. It also allows you to filter connected devices by Site so if you have a long list of devices it is easier to locate the one you are looking for.

Info Form

The connected devices information form stores information for each connected device such as Brand, Model, Serial Number (S/N). The connected devices network interface is the same as the server and workstation in the way that you can setup multiple connections to several LAN's. This would be used for a device such as a dedicated firewall with a internal as well as a external network port. It also supports I/O devices like the Server and Workstation fields so in this capacity you could create a Network Attached Storage (NAS) connected device and define the drive array by adding drives to the I/O Devices subsection screen.
