Guide to Naturist Beaches in Poland

(Abridged Version)

  A translator's note:
Naturism in Poland had its days in 80s. At this very moment naturist beaches are not too crowded and there is no official naturist organization. However we still hope that naturism in Poland will become more popular in the future.
Please be aware that all listed places are not official beaches but you do not have to worry about problems with authorities. We have not heard about any punishment for being naked at naturist beach since at least 1980. However we cannot make any warranties that visiting places listed in "The Guide..." you will not run into troubles.

Most of places described here are actually clothing optional. Topfree is not officially forbidden at textile beaches but you will hardly find topfree woman there. Bare breasted women usually prefer to go to naturist beach.

And remember: Baltic Sea is not warm sea at all .... :-(

Introduction

This WWW page is an abridged version of Przewodnik po Polskich Plażach dla Naturystów. We decided to translate only those entries that we are sure that they are still up to date (marked with a blue header in original text). Information received from our correspondents or from ourselves are marked with Paw.

Some of described beaches are marked on tourists' maps. Unfortunately none of these maps cite their source of information.

Please send any updates, corrections and comments to the Author, tgniw@kki.net.pl.

Listed by geographical site:

  1. WOLIN
The island Wolin is known for its long beaches, steep chalk coast and vast deciduous forests. Although belonging to Poland today it is easy to reach from Germany.

A 3 km long naturist beach ("Plaża naturystyczna") can be found between the villages Swinnemünde (Świnoujście) and Misdroy (Międzyzdroje). There are some hotels, camping sites and restaurants in these villages.

Above information was copied from WWW (http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~stephen/fkk/index$.htm, 97-04-02) of Steffen Hauser. At current location of his site this entry does not exist.

This entry probably describes the same beach as

  2. MIĘDZYZDROJE-LUBIEWO - You should get off of the train at railway station located at route Międzyzdroje - Świnoujście. Then you should go towards rest-house "Pomerania", before village Przytor. Naturist beach is about 500 m long.
    Wolin.
This nude beach is marked at tourist's maps Wybrzeże Bałtyku, Zalew Szczeciński.

  3. DŹWIRZYNO - Very close to Kołobrzeg. Naturist beach is located between Grzybowo and Dźwirzyno.
In accordance to a message from a listener of Polish Radio Trójka (97-08-14) the beach still exists and its boundaries are demarcated with signs.

  4. Paw ROWY - A channel (Łupawa River) divides the village into two parts. Large textile beach is located in the left (western) part of the village. In the right (eastern) part of the village textile beach is small and located near the channel. Not far away (10 - 15 minutes) you can find large and beautiful naturist beach. If you are looking for loneliness you can walk up to 25 km. You can find some additional information in short Trip Report.
Another attraction of this spot is Słowiński National Park that begins at eastern part of Rowy.

This sign demarcated nude beach in Rowy in 1990...

  5. ŁEBA ZACHODNIA- A beach is located in western side of the channel. At Turystyczna Street you can find two camping-sites: "INTERCAMP" and No 21. Both camping sites are located at Słowiński National Park. Naturist beach is located about 1.5 - 2 km in western direction from textile beach (you can go there by Turystyczna Street) but Łeba is very popular and it is very crowded place. Above information should not be translated (old data) but this nude beach is marked at maps Wybrzeże Bałtyku, Słowiński Park Narodowy.

  6. LUBIATOWO - You can reach the beach only by means of communication together with 4 km walk from the village to a camping site at the sea-shore. The village is located in eastern direction from Łeba and lighthouse "Stilo", at Lębork-Choczewo-Puck way.
The beach is not populated so it is an ideal place for quiet rest.

  7. Paw DĘBKI - one of the most beautiful beaches on the Polish Coast of the Baltic Sea. Nude beach is located about 500 m (in western direction) from the mouth of Piaśnica River.

Dębki is a small fishing village but it is not a place for quiet rest: this place is popular among rich youngsters who want to have a good fun.

You can easily get to Dębki from Gdynia or Wejherowo. But be careful: it is a small fishing village near Karwia, not DĄBKI near Koszalin.

This nude beach is marked on the map Wybrzeże Bałtyku and is mentioned in many tourists guides as the only "official" one in Poland (But what means "official"?).

  8. Paw KARWIA - We confirmed that nude beach still exists here. However we have to reprint our old data (we suspect that the beach is located towards Dębki):
So called "roving" beach. When textile beach is not crowded naturists can stay close to main entrance. In the season naturist beach moves in both directions outside textile beach.

  9. Paw CHAŁUPY - The oldest (since 60's) naturist beach in Poland. About 30-40 minutes to begin and 40-50 minutes to its central part in direction of Kuźnica Helska. About 3-4 km long of beautiful sandy beach fenced by pine forest.

Chałupy is a fishing village located on Hel Peninsula. It can be easily accessed by car, bus or train (from Gdynia).

In the 80's Polish singer Zbigniew Wodecki (textile man :-( popularized a song about naturists in Chałupy: "Chałupy Welcome To".

This nude beach is marked on maps Wybrzeże Bałtyku, Półwysep Helski.

  10. Paw REWA - small village located about 10 km north from Gdynia. You can go there from Gdynia by city bus No. 146 or by your own transportation. The nude beach is situated about 200 m towards Mechelinek but it is not very popular now (usually you will meet only few people there). Paw
This nude beach is marked on map Wybrzeże Bałtyku.

  11. Paw GDAŃSK-GÓRKI ZACHODNIE (STOGI) - beautiful sandy beach screened by a forest (on dunes). From textile beach in Stogi about 1 km in right direction. You can go there by:

This nude beach is marked on tourist's map Wybrzeże Bałtyku.

  12. Paw PIASKI (sometimes called Nowa Karczma) is a small fishing village located 12 km east from Krynica Morska. It is the last locality at Mierzeja Wiślana, just at Polish-Russian frontier. Ideal place for a quiet rest but touristic infrastructure is more than small.

Although a beach at frontier is not populated you will hardly see a naked people there (but topless is much more scarce!). Nude beach is located in western direction from the main textile beach (about 2 km). Nude beach in Piaski
If you are going by a car you can leave it at guarded parking place in a forest (7 PLN per hour in 1997). Driving from Krynica Morska you will see a writing plaża nudystów 10 km (nude beach 10 km) so you only have to check you car counter. At the parking place you will see a sign :

  14. Paw KRYSPINÓW Kryspinow - About 15 km from Cracow. The beach is located at beautiful, insolated and sandy slope of an old sand-mine and covers one-third of a artificial lake.

    You can go there:

You can go by car almost to the beach but be careful: the road is mostly a dirt-track, full of deep holes and ruts (Fiat 126 - Maluch has been successfully tested but modern cars should be driven very carefully).

A fee is 4 PLN (złoty: 1 PLN = $3.5) per person and 5 PLN per car is collected for entry at artificial lake area (each day, till 18:00-18:30). But area owners does not provide any services at nude part of the beach (no life guard and any facilities). Also you are not fenced from textile "visitors".

Naga plażaAdvantages of nude beach in Kryspinów:

On fair weekend days you can meet over 300 nude people there.
Based on reports (from 15 July 1997 and 9 June 1998) from Kasia and Piotr, young naturist couple from Cracow.

    Lublin

  15. Paw PRAWIEDNIKI - near Lublin. You should get off a bus No.25 at the last bus stop, then go towards a mill upon Bystrzyca River and down the river about 1.5 km. You should turn left towards sandy glade surrounded by junipers.
This nude beach is not popular at the moment however it can be more in vogue due to problems with hooligans at the nude beach on island on the artificial lake Zemborzycki.

  16. Paw ZALEW ZEMBORZYCKI (artificial lake) - Located in Lublin. You should go there by a city bus No.25 or 8. You should get off of a bus No.8 just after railway station Lublin-Zemborzyce (Krężnicka Street). Then turn right (Cienista Street) and walk through viaduct and turn left just after passing by a bus stop (line No.25 - towards Bór Steet). After a walk through a forest you will see an artificial lake (Zalew Zemborzycki) and a small island. The nude beach is located on the island. Naturists probably will leave the beach soon due to some problems with textiles and hooligans.

  17. Paw WARSZAWA-WAŁ MIEDZESZYŃSKI - The only nude beach in Warsaw. It is located at city boundaries. You can go there by city bus No. 146. You should get off of the bus right at merging of Wał Miedzeszyński Street and Trakt Lubelski Street. Go via Rychnowska Street passing by military buildings towards Vistula River (about 700 m). You can also go there by car but main part of the road is very
The beach is quite large: on sunny weekend days you can meet up to 1000 people there. There are almost no gawkers (beach is perfectly screened by bushes and trees). The main disadvantage is the river: it is so polluted that bathing is very risky.
This nude beach is marked on most city maps of Warsaw.

!Despite a positive description please be aware that this place can be dangerous. On 6 June 1998 a man was killed there. The case is still investigated so there is no definite answer who was guilty. Probably an accident was caused by three young man (18 years old) who attacked a naturist pair (about 50 years old). A man tried to defend his wife with a knife. During a struggle young aggressors were wounded. One of them died. The naturist who defended with a knife was known as peaceful man. Aggressors were known to the police as car-thieves.

  18. Paw ŚWIDRY WIELKIE - not far from Warsaw. You can go there via Wał Miedzeszyński Street towards Puławy. Also you can use a city bus No. 702 or private bus lines. You should get off of a bus at "Zajazd Pod Dębami" (Oak Inn) and go about 200 m via asfalt road towards Vistula River, then turn left and go 400 - 500 m along river bank.

Alternate way: by train. You should get off of the train at depot Józefów and go towards Vistula River about 2.5 km.
