Welcome aboard the USS Navy Homepage !!! You are the # visitor as of September 29, 1995. As for now, this homepage will primarily be about surface ships in the US Navy. I might add several prominent classes of ships of other Navies, as well as several submarine classes, as time progresses.

Some might wonder why I'm dedicating this page to the Navy. Well, the reason is pretty simple: I LOVE THE NAVY. As I used to lived really close to the coast, and my home had a great view of the ocean, everytime any warships came to town (Singapore), I would be one of the first few persons to know it. At that time, I started to keep a log of the dates of arrival and departure of the warships. Between 1988 and 1991, I visited 11 warships, from ships in the British Navy to ships in the US Navy. During my first semester here at the University of Kansas, I even took a NROTC class! By the way, anytime you see this symbol next to a ship, it means that I have a bunch of pictures about this ships, the ones that I took, that is. Here's a list of warships I have visited:

  • HRMS Kortenaer (F 807)
  • HMNZS Waikato (F 55)
  • USS Enterprise (CVN 65)
  • USS Fort Fisher (LSD 40)
  • HMCS Huron (DDH 281)
  • USS Okinawa (LPH 3)
  • USS Nimitz (CVN 68)
  • USS Hewitt (DD 966)
  • USS Long Beach (CGN 9)
  • USS Gary (FFG 51)
  • USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72)

I have seen a lot more warships, probably in the range of 150 - 200. It would definately be a pretty tedious task for me to list all of them, and therefore I decided not to list any of them.

    Classes of Ships

I try to make sure that the information I have here on the ships are accurate. However, it's very likely that I have made some silly mistakes. It would be great if you folks could drop me a mail when you discover something that doesn't look right or something that could be improved on. You can leave your message at my Guestbook.
I have been receiving contributions, whether it is photos, scanned pictures, patches, or info, from a lot of visitors to my page and I just want to say I really appreciate what you guys/gals did. Thank you so much folks!!
