Blob is a volumetric shader that allows you to read a particle system file (.bpf) inside Softimage 3D and render it as a solid object using the parametric isosurface technology.
The resulting solid object supports all the material and texture definition of a common Softimage object such as reflection, refraction, transparency and shadow-casting.
Each particle is converted into a sphere, which will melt with its neighbouring spheres creating a continuous surface according to the user-definable blending factor.
To furtherly improve the use of the .bpf file we also provide our simple BPF generator plug-in, which generates a number of particles on the selected object's surface.
The particles can be jittered with a definable amount of Brownian noise.

Save->PT_ParticleGen:
A simple particle generator emitting particles out of an object surface with a selectable amount of turbulence. The particles are affected by the gravity force. To use in conjuntion with the Blob shader.

PT_Blob:
Volume shader to improve the particle render using mental ray volumetric capability. A volumetric isosurface is generate out of a particle system file. Textures, reflections, refractions are supported.
