Options

Units

This is the list of mapping modes available to the user.The mapping mode defines the units, since for each mode size of the logical unit is different.

                                   SIZE OF LOGICAL UNIT

HIGH METRIC           -   0.01 millimeter

LOW METRIC            -   0.1 millimeter

HIGH ENGLISH          -   0.001 inch

LOW ENGLISH           -   0.01 inch

TWIPS                          -   1/1440 inch(1/20 point)

SCREEN PIXELS         -    1 device unit(pixel)

Refresh Centric Line When drawing lines that have a common origin by using the menubar option : Lines-- Centric Line,&  user wants to select another common point, then this option should be checked to refresh the common point or leave the previous common point.
Refresh End Line When drawing lines that are end connected using the menubar option: Lines--End Connected Line , & user wants to select another starting point, then this option should be checked to refresh the starting point or leave the previous starting point.
Concentric Mode

This tool is used to draw concentric objects.

If this option is checked while drawing objects/drawings, then concentric figures are drawn and the distance between the concentric figures can be adjusted by selecting the menubar option :

Modify Options Selecting this option pop-ups a dialog box which looks like :

With the help of this user can modify, as per desire :

  • Line Thickness -To vary  the  thickness of line/ border of the object(unfilled) to be drawn.
  • Concentric Distance -The distance between the concentric objects when working in concentric mode.
  • Parallel Line Distance - The distance between the parallel lines when the menubar option : Lines--Parallel Line is checked.

 

Lines

Centric Lines

This tool is used to draw lines originating from a common point.

The common point is selected by first mouse click(left) and releasing. Then  by clicking and releasing at any other point ,draws a line from the common point to this present point.The fig. below is an example :

To take up a new common point select :

 Options--Refresh Centric Line

The thickness and color of the lines can be changed.

End Connected Line

This tool is used to draw lines whose ends are connected. A starting point is selected by first mouse click(left) and releasing.By clicking and releasing at some other point, draws a line to that point. Now clicking and releasing at another point draws a line upto this point,starting from the end of first line.The fig. below is an example :

To take up a new starting point select :

Options--Refresh End Line

The thickness and color of the lines can be changed.

Measured Line

This tool is used for giving dimensions to the drawn object.By selecting this tool you can draw a measuring line and add dimensions through the dialog box which looks like :

The dialog box holds the default value according to the mapping mode. If you check the "Don't ask me again''option in the dialog box then default values will be taken.

The color of the measuring line can be changed , but its thickness cannot be adjusted.

Parallel Line

This tool is used to draw parallel lines .The distance between the parallel lines can be adjusted by selecting the option :
