Since the manual was written, several changes have been made to a couple
of the utilities contained in the Eissinger Utilities package.
MemChk and HWare
Both of these utilities now display both the amount of Conventional
memory actually installed and the amount of RAM available.
HWare
The User's Guide states that the current version of HWare does not
support Serial Ports. It now does - it will report the total number
of serial ports found on the system. HWare now checks for the
presence of a Game port, also. Neither the Serial Port or Game Port
routines check to see if anything is attached to the port, HWare
just checks for the presence of the port address. HWare also now
reports the total number of actual drives installed on the system
just prior to reporting on the logged drive. This bypasses any
phantom floppy drives. The phantom drives will still be reported,
but the last number shows the actual number of drives. RAMDrives
may be reported in the number as a floppy drive - depending on the
particular structure of the RAMDrive.
