'Old' Procomm (2.4.2 2.4.3) does not support MNP or V42(bis). You
must set your speed directly (no buffering) and put &Q0 in the init
(command) string.
AT&F&C1&D2&Q0! (the ! is carraige return for 'old' Procomm).
Set the phone directories to the actual speed you will connect (ie
300, 1200, 2400 or 9600) to the other modem. (no 12,000 or 14,400 can be
set either).
To setup Procomm, press <Alt> S and be sure to save when finished.
RUN Procomm from the Procomm directory. C:\PROCOMM>procomm That way
the parameters you set for Procomm will be saved in the Procomm directory.
