  1. This is the Demonstration Version of the Reply Mail
  2. Designer program, which lets you create Business Reply
  3. envelopes & postcards and Courtesy Reply envelopes
  4. & postcards quickly and easily with a personal computer
  5. and a laser printer, inkjet printer, or imagesetter.

  7. To learn more about this Demo Program and about the
  8. real Reply Mail Designer program, press the "PgDn" key...
  9. |
  10. You can operate this Demo Program by using the keyboard
  11. only, or - on most computer systems - you can use both
  12. the keyboard and the mouse. If your mouse doesn't work
  13. with this program, you probably need to load the "mouse-
  14. driver" program (usually named MOUSE.SYS or MOUSE.COM)
  15. that came with the mouse. Follow the instructions
  16. supplied with the mouse; then run this program again.
  17. (To stop this program, press the "Esc" key repeatedly.)

  20. pressing the "PgDn" key. You can go back and read
  21. previous sections of the text by clicking on "Go back"

  28. This Demo Program was created to give you an idea of
  29. how the real Reply Mail Designer program works.

  31. The Demo Program works almost exactly like the real
  32. Reply Mail Designer program. By experimenting with the
  33. Demo Program, you'll get an idea of what it would be
  34. like to use the real program - and you'll realize how
  35. Reply Mail Designer can save you time and money.

  37. Reply Mail Designer can create a complete Business/
  38. Courtesy Reply envelope or postcard - including the FIM
  39. and POSTNET bar codes, address, permit information, and
  40. all other required text and graphic elements. Reply Mail
  41. Designer has been CERTIFIED by the U.S. Postal Service,
  42. and it understands the Postal Service's mailpiece-design
  43. requirements (including BRMAS requirements), so it can
  44. lay out envelopes and postcards instantly and correctly.

  46. With Reply Mail Designer, you can:

  48. ∙ Create artwork to make printing plates for Business/
  49.   Courtesy Reply envelopes & postcards. The FIM and
  50.   POSTNET bar codes are created automatically, including
  51.   11-digit Delivery Point Bar Codes, where appropriate.

  53. ∙ Print directly onto envelopes and postcards.

  55. ∙ Suppress printing of specified elements. For
  56.   example, you might want to instruct Reply Mail
  57.   Designer not to print the mailing address; then
  58.   paste up your own artwork for the mailing address.

  60. ∙ Save your envelope/postcard designs in editable EPS
  61.   (Encapsulated PostScript) format and import them into
  62.   illustration, page-layout, & word-processing programs.

  64. ∙ Choose any of several different fonts for each
  65.   text element on the envelope or postcard.

  67. . Choose any of several different design options
  68.   for each graphic element on the envelope/postcard.

  70. ∙ Lay out several copies of the same envelope or
  71.   postcard on one sheet and print them together.

  73. ∙ Specify negative and lateral-reverse printing.

  75. ∙ Create trim marks, corner marks, registration
  76.   marks, bleed area.

  78. ∙ Create spot-color separations.

  91. Reply Mail Designer runs on IBM-PS/1's, IBM-PS/2's,
  92. IBM-PC's, and compatible computers. It works with
  93. PostScript printers and imagesetters and with Hewlett-
  94. Packard Series III & IV printers (and 100% PCL 5-
  95. compatible printers). Although you can use a mouse
  96. with Reply Mail Designer, a mouse is not required.

  98. Reply Mail Designer runs under DOS, Windows, and OS/2.

  100. You can use this Demo Program to create some sample
  101. envelopes and postcards. Use the Help Index on the
  102. Help Menu to learn how. The items entitled "Using The
  103. Keyboard," "Using The Mouse," and "A Quick-Start
  104. Tutorial" will get you started. NOTE: This Demo Program
  105. will print the word "SAMPLE" along with some shaded
  106. blocks on the envelopes and postcards that you create,
  107. but the real Reply Mail Designer program will not.

  109. Remember that you can get on-screen help at any time
  110. by clicking on "Help" or by pressing the "F1" key. Also,
  111. note that you can re-read the information you've just
  112. read by choosing "Product info..." from the Help Menu.

  114. When you are ready to start using the Demo Program,
  115. click on "Done" or press the "Esc" key.
