  13.        2 1/2    cup   Sugar                                             
  14.        1/2      cup   Water - hot                                       
  15.        1/2      cup   Corn syrup - white                                
  16.        1/4      tsp   Salt                                              
  17.        1        tsp   Vanilla                                           
  18.        1/2      cup   Nut meats                                         
  19.        1/4      cup   Candied cherries                                  
  20.        1/4      cup   Candied pineapple

  22.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  24.     Put sugar, hot water, corn syrup into saucepan, heat slowly to        
  25.     boiling, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Wipe down sugar crystals  
  26.     from side of pan before syrup starts to boil. When syrup begins to    
  27.     boil, beat egg whites with salt until foamy. Pour 2 T. of syrup on egg
  28.     whites and continue beating. Cook syrup to soft ball stage, 234 F.    
  29.     Pout half syrup onto beaten egg whites very slowly and continue       
  30.     beating.
