  5.       Welcome to the  shareware  version  of  MedTxt  version  1.0.   This
  6.       version  of  MedTxt  is  not  public domain or free software, but is
  7.       being   distributed   as    shareware   for   evaluation   purposes.
  8.       Non-registered users are allowed to use this software  for  a  trial
  9.       period  of  3  weeks.   At  the  end of this period if you desire to
  10.       continue to use MedTxt  you  must  purchase a license by registering
  11.       the software.

  13.       You are welcome to distribute the non-registered form of  MedTxt  to
  14.       others  as  long  as  there is no fee charged in connection with the
  15.       distribution other than a  nominal  $5.00  fee  to cover the cost of
  16.       material and postage.  This fee does not constitute  a  registration
  17.       license  fee  to  use  the software.  MedTxt must not be altered but
  18.       distributed as originally  released  and  it  cannot be incorporated
  19.       into other software, product or information being distributed,  sold
  20.       or offered for sale.  As long as these rules are upheld feel free to
  21.       distribute  the  non-registered  version  to all of your friends and
  22.       co-workers.  It may also  be  freely distributed via computer user's
  23.       groups, software libraries, and electronic bulletin boards.

  25.       REGISTRATION 
  26.       For a registration fee of $25.00 plus $5.00  S&H  you  will  receive
  27.       MedTxt  Version  1.0  (MedTxt10).   The $25.00 registration fee will
  28.       license one copy for use on any one computer at any one time.

  32.       The NON-REGISTERED  version  of  MedTxt  contains  about  55 medical
  33.       topics  in  Internal  medicine  that  are  organized  under  several
  34.       specialities   such   as   Cardiology,   Emergency,   Endocrinology,
  35.       Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Hematology  and  Oncology,  Infectious
  36.       disease,  Nephrology  and  Urology,  Neurology, Orthopedic medicine,
  37.       Pulmonary medicine  and  Rheumatology  and  Immunology.   The topics
  38.       included are just enough for you to examine and  evaluate.   If  you
  39.       then would like to register, you will be sent the REGISTERED version
  40.       which will contain about 100 topics in Internal medicine.  Following
  41.       this,  updates  will  be provided ONLY TO REGISTERED USERS at timely
  42.       intervals for a small  fee.   Each  update will contain around 25-50
  43.       new topics.  If you have registered you  will  be  notified  of  the
  44.       updates  as  they  become  available.   Eventually,  you will have a
  45.       superb, comprehensive electronic medical  reference that you can use
  46.       on a desktop or portable computer.

  49.       Users of MedTxt must accept this disclaimer of warranty:  MedTxt  is
  50.       supplied  as  is.  The author disclaims all warranties, expressed or
  51.       implied,   including   without   limitation,   the   warranties   of
  52.       merchantability and of  fitness  for  any  purpose.  The author will
  53.       assume no liability for damages, direct or consequential  which  may
  54.       result  from  the  use  or  mis-use of MedTxt.  In no event will the
  55.       author be liable for any  damages,  including any lost profits, lost
  56.       savings or other incidental or consequential damages arising out  of
  57.       your  use  or inability to use this program, or for any claim by any

  63.       accuracy of the drug information included in MedTxt before  release,
  64.       drug  data  may change without notice and all readers are advised to

  68.       Every attempt has been made  to  accurately  summarize  the  medical
  69.       topics  included in MedTxt.  However, since medical information is a
  70.       constantly changing field, medical data in MedTxt may not be current
  71.       and transcription errors are  always  a possiblity.  Because of this
  72.       the author cannot guarantee that  all  information  is  accurate  or
  73.       comprehensive, and will assume no responsibility    for the content.
  74.       The  author  disclaims  all  responsibility  for any adverse effects
  75.       resulting  from   inadvertent   errors   in   MedTxt   or  from  any
  76.       misunderstandings that may arise after reading MedTxt.  It is always
  77.       prudent to confirm any information in MedTxt by other means such  as
  78.       reading the original article, other medical textbooks and consulting
  79.       any recent medical literature.  Ultimately, it is the responsibility
  80.       of  the  reader  to determine the best therapy depending on the most
  81.       recent authoritative information available.

  84.       material and is protected under  copyright  law.   It  may  be  used
