  9.      The program "MISSING" contained on the BCAST distribution disk is a
  10. utility designed to help locate areas in your database which are incomplete.
  11. It scans the database file "DATASETS.DAT" created by BCAST for missing or
  12. non-contiguous records and reports those areas which it identifies as
  13. missing.
  14.  
  15.      For example, consider a database file containing SGDB datasets which are
  16. dated January 1, January 2, January 4, January 5, and January 10.  Notice
  17. that these list of dates are non-contiguous (ex. there are some missing
  18. dates).  The program MISSING automatically and quickly identifies these
  19. missing records and reports them on-screen.  In this example, MISSING would
  20. analyze the database and report that datasets for January 3, and January 6-10
  21. are missing.

  23.      By simply running MISSING, you can quickly determine which datasets you
  24. must obtain in order to make your database complete.  Missing datasets can be
  25. obtained easily from either the STD computer BBS at: (403) 756-3008, or
  26. through anonymous FTP on the larger electronic networks such as Internet or
  27. BITNET).

  29.      To execute MISSING, simply type "MISSING" at the DOS command prompt.
  30. You need not be in the same directory as the BCAST database file, provided
  31. the "BCAST" environment variable points to the location of the database file.
  32. There are no extra parameters required.  MISSING will immediately load and
  33. quickly determine which datasets are missing in your database file.  If your
  34. database is not missing any datasets, MISSING will report that your database
  35. file is complete.
