  3. This archive contains two things:
  4.  
  5. A relatively small (500K) X server linked dynamically,
  6.  
  7. and a dynamically linked version of fvwm.
  8.  
  9.

  11. Xamiga is a plain, bear bones, X server.  It should have just about all
  12. of the extensions except PEX linked into it.  I have found it possible
  13. to run Xamiga, fvwm and 1 Xterm, and a small applrication (say vi, or
  14. tip) without swapping on a 4 meg system.  Your mileage may vary.
  15.  
  16. The server was ported using Godzilla's guide, and does not make use of
  17. any custom hardware.  I am using Chris Hopps Views interface, but the
  18. server does not manipulate the bitmap size, or color palette.  I'm
  19. afraid you may be stuck with a black&white 640x400 screen for the time
  20. being.

  22. It will probably expect to find files in "/usr/X11R5/{bin,lib}", so
  23. you may need to create a symlink.  I compiled it using "gcc -g -O3",
  24. and then stripped the file.  The stripped server weighs in at 525524
  25. bytes.  (Unstripped is over 3MB.)  It is also dynamically linked, so
  26. you will need the dynamic libraries to run it.

  28. I may publish the amiga-dependent portions sources if I get enough
  29. requests.  To use them, you would need the full X11R5 distribution,
  30. though.
