- Forum: OS2DFECT CFORUM
-
- Subject: CFORUM for reporting OS2 Defects
-
- This CFORUM is provided as a conference for reporting
- defects to IBM OS2 Development where a PMR has not
- already been reported through the 1-800 number.
- Please browse the OS2APAR LIST for a match to
- see if the problem you are experiencing has already
- been reported, and also review the CFORUM that deals
- specifically with the area of OS2 you are using.
- Many problems are not associated with an actual defect
- in the code, so there's a good chance that someone else
- has experienced the same problem, and can help you
- to resolve the issue quickly.
-
- If entering a defect report, please supply complete
- hardware and software installed, along with a detailed
- explanation of how to recreate the problem, and any
- events leading up to the time of failure that may have
- contributed.
-
- Contributions must not contain confidential or proprietary information.
-
- Each contributor agrees, in placing material in this forum, that IBM and
- other users are free to prepare derivative works based upon it, and to use,
- reproduce, perform, display and distribute inside and outside their company
- such material and such derivative works, without obligation or charge.
-
- IBM is not responsible or liable for the use, copying, or distribution of
- materials placed on this forum, and has therefore no obligation to control
- such acts.
-
- All subscribers are required to abide at all times by the conference
- rules described in the Bulletin Board Rules under "News and Announcements".
-
- All IBM personnel are required to abide at all times by the IBMPC RULES
- and the IBM Business Conduct Guidelines. IBM personnel will read the
- CUSTOMER FORUM RULES in IBMPC RULES before contributing.
-
- Contributions violating these rules will be deleted by the CFORUM
- Owner or their delegate, and in some cases by an IBM conference
- Administrator.
-
- The OS2BBS CFORUM is where anyone may raise concerns regarding rules
- violations found in this and other CFORUMS.

- Subject: APPs not closing properly
-
- Great idea, IBM, for a forum (p.s. there's no OS2APAR CFORUM)!
-
- I have reported a problem to the 800 number (5X028) where some
- applications do not close properly. This seems to occur mainly
- with Win3 and DOS apps. Occasionally when one closes an
- application and return to the desktop, the application's icon
- remains hatched as if it was still active (global minimize to
- the desktop is on, and there is nothing in the MinViewer).
- Double-clicking on the icon starts a new session even if the
- resurface option is set. When restarting the machine after
- shutting down with icons set this way causes the applications
- to restart at boot up time.
-
- Thus, the application and the mouse thinks the app is closed,
- however, the desktop and startup think it is still open!
-
- Hmmm, Geza report his number as 5X298, mine was 5X028 and this
- was just a week ago...
