¢ o=o=o=o=o=¢¢ PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE¢ by Jack Gedalius¢¢ July-August, 1998¢¢ At the July 18 meeting, Al Sharkis¢ demonstrated the ABBUC Disk number¢ 53, which had good opening graphics¢ and a music program, which played¢ various musical instruments. He also¢ demonstrated another disk called FX¢ Tools. In addition, he demonstrated¢ an html (a page-formatting language¢ for the Internet) file, and converted¢ it for Atari. Al also described a¢ utility disk compiled by Les Wagar, a¢ new member to our club.¢¢ At the August meeting, Al Sharkis¢ described the fourth version of our¢ new utility disk from Les Wagar. ¢ This disk contains utilities to check¢ the density of the disk in the drive,¢ the directory in BASIC, a sector¢ copier, controlling of files,¢ restoring deleted files, a special¢ disk locker, a line renumberer, and¢ many more great features. Alan asked¢ for somebody to volunteer to take the¢ disk and work up a comprehensive¢ demonstration of it, because time¢ would not allow him to do justice to¢ that task. He also demonstrated a¢ disk called Spiele Disk from ABBUC. ¢ This disk contains seven games: a¢ game consisting of a labyrinth in a¢ castle, a skateboarding game, Balloon¢ 087 -- flying a balloon through good¢ and bad weather, Ice(a labyrinth¢ game), Adebar -- a game about a¢ stork, Last Oldtimer(similar to Pac-¢ Man) and Jinks, a glider game.
