********¢ FIRST ANNUAL INDOOR PICNIC¢ of the OL' HACKERS AUG, NY¢ (written by Stan Schenfeld)¢¢ It was a Friday night in July, the¢ 17th to be exact, and the event was¢ the first indoor picnic of the OL'¢ HACKERS A.U.G. Why an indoor picnic,¢ you ask? Well, when I called Brady¢ Park back in May to make reservations¢ for our club picnic, I was informed¢ that they were booked solid through¢ the end of September. When I told¢ this to Judy (my wife), she suggested¢ that since our last dinner was such a¢ success, we might do that again. I¢ suggested it to Alex, who presented¢ the idea to the club, and it was¢ unanimously accepted, and so it came¢ to be known as the FIRST ANNUAL¢ INDOOR PICNIC. Will there be more?¢ Only time will tell! ¢ The evening started off with the club¢ members and wives and girlfriends¢ greeting each other. More and more¢ people arrived, until we had a total¢ of 21. Those present were (in¢ alphabetical order) Al Atkins and his¢ wife, Carrie; Murray Berkowitz (a new¢ member and a fellow Ham radio¢ (operator) and his wife, Irene; Frank¢ Castaldo (a paid up member even¢ before attending his first club¢ meeting), his wife, Barbara; Ron¢ Fetzer and his wife, Cathy; Jack¢ Gedalius and his wife, Mary; Mark¢ Glicksman and his girlfriend, Carol;¢ Joe Leber and his wife, Annette;¢ Harold Pegler and his wife, Edith;¢ Alex Pignato (the Prez); (Alex's wife¢ Marie could not attend as she had¢ broken her foot in MAY in an auto¢ accident-but she sent her regards) We¢ missed her and hope to see her at our¢ next non-computer affair. Allan¢ Sharkis and his wife, Anne; and Bob¢ Ulschmidt and his wife, Jean. ¢ There was much conversation and¢ everyone seemed to enjoy the evening.¢ Alex had given a ticket to all the¢ ladies, and drawings were held for¢ some computer goodies. Which added to¢ the evenings enjoyment. Heck,¢ something for nothing is always¢ welcome, NO? Jack had his video¢ camera and took pictures during the¢ evening. It was also suggested, that¢ name tags be given out at future¢ gatherings so everybody will know¢ "whose-who". The menu was Rigatoni¢ in Vodka sauce as an appetizer, a¢ choice of four entrees (fish, shrimp,¢ steak, or chicken), Chocolate Muse¢ desert, and coffee. There were also¢ assorted rolls and bread-sticks. ¢ Everything was as delicious as the¢ last time we went there See you¢ all at the next annual indoor picnic¢ (second). ¢ Stan ¢ +*+*+*+*+*+¢
