  8. Icaros Desktop is a pre-configured
  9. AROS desktop environment for the PC
  10. platform, distributed on a bootable
  11. live media. The AROS Research
  12. Operating System is a open source
  13. lightweight, efficient and flexible
  14. desktop operating system, aiming at
  15. being compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 at
  16. the API level, while improving on it
  17. in many areas.

  19. WHAT'S NEW

  21. Icaros Desktop 1.4.3 should fix
  22. issues with Development stuff some
  23. users of 1.4.2 complained about.
  24. Please notice that only Live! users
  25. could use Icaros to code software:
  26. the Light version misses almost all
  27. necessary files, due to CD size
  28. limits. Installing 1.4.3 on a Light
  29. installation will add about 120 MB
  30. of software, so pay attention if
  31. you're using a tight partition or a
  32. tiny USB pendrive. Some programs
  33. have been updated, for instance
  34. WildMidi library, MP3 Player and
  35. LoView have been brought to a more
  36. recent - if not their latest -
  37. version. This version does not
  38. include any other new feature, but
  39. refreshes AROS system files to a
  40. recent nightly build.
