  7. STATEMENT FROM A-EON TECHNOLOGY

  9. Following our announcement that we
  10. have secured the future of RadeonHD
  11. graphic drivers for AmigaOS 4 we are
  12. pleased to reveal we have now made
  13. an agreement with ACube Systems
  14. which will allow owners of new
  15. AmigaOne 500 and Sam460 systems
  16. access to the new RadeonHD drivers
  17. and future updates. Registered
  18. owners of these new systems will be
  19. able to download free RadeonHD
  20. driver updates from the A-EON
  21. Technology website as and when then
  22. become available. Details of how to
  23. register will be made available in
  24. the near future. Pre-existing
  25. AmigaOne 500 owners will also
  26. benefit from this agreement.
  27. Pre-existing Sam460 owners will
  28. still be able to purchase the
  29. RadeonHD driver from the A-EON
  30. Technology website. ACube's Max
  31. Tretene commented on the new
  32. agreement, "We're all happy about
  33. the securing of the driver
  34. development (for AmigaOS 4)", while
  35. Trevor Dickinson added, "Driver
  36. support for the latest RadeonHD
  37. graphics cards is a massive
  38. achievement for AmigaOS 4 and I'm
  39. pleased that ACube's customers can
  40. benefit from Hans de Ruiter's work.
  41. These are exciting times for AmigaOS
  42. 4 users."

  44. We are also pleased to confirm that
  45. Hans is making excellent progress
  46. with the RadeonHD driver as he works
  47. towards the version 1.0 release. The
  48. latest version (0.46) has just been
  49. uploaded to the AmigaONE X1000 beta
  50. test team for testing. Registered
  51. AmigaONE X1000 "First Contact"
  52. customers will be able download the
  53. latest update from the A-EON
  54. Technology website in the near
  55. future.

  117. A-EON Technology secures graphic
  118. card support for AmigaOS 4
  119.  
  120. A-EON Technology is pleased to
  121. announce that it has signed a new
  122. development agreement with premier
  123. AmigaOS graphics specialist Hans de
  124. Ruiter which ensures the future
  125. compatibility of AmigaOS 4 with the
  126. latest RadeonHD graphics cards. In
  127. addition to the HD4000 (R700)
  128. graphics drivers released with the
  129. AmigaONE X1000 "First Contact"
  130. system, we have now contracted Hans
  131. to create a series of drivers for
  132. the RadeonHD family. This also
  133. includes support for Evergreen,
  134. Northern Islands and the recently
  135. released Southern Islands HD7000
  136. series. These new drivers, which are
  137. exclusively licensed to A-EON
  138. Technology, will support the
  139. X1300-1950, 5000, 6000 & 7000 series
  140. RadeonHD graphics cards and provide
  141. AmigaOS 4 with access to the latest
  142. in graphic card technology.

  144. Trevor Dickinson commented, "This is
  145. a major boost for the AmigaOS and is
  146. the first time that these modern
  147. graphics cards have been supported
  148. on non x86 systems. Hans has already
  149. released several updates to his
  150. RadeonHD driver and support for
  151. Evergreen and Northern Islands cards
  152. is already up to the standard of the
  153. R700 drivers released with the
  154. AmigaONE X1000. He has also made
  155. excellent progress with drivers for
  156. AMD's Southern Islands cards. Hans
  157. de Ruiter replied, "I was initially
  158. disappointed when supply of Radeon
  159. HD 4000 series became scarce but now
  160. I'm proud of what has been achieved.
  161. The RadeonHD driver once again
  162. supports some of the latest cards
  163. available." His comments were echoed
  164. by a long time AmigaOS 4 developer
  165. and A1-X1000 beta tester who stated,
  166. "Looks like OS4 won't have to worry
  167. about availability of compatible
  168. graphics cards anytime soon". We can
  169. only agree.

  188. Although the RadeonHD driver is
  189. exclusively licensed to A-EON
  190. Technology for AmigaOS 4, owners of
  191. ACube's "Next Generation Amiga"
  192. systems need not despair. They will
  193. be able to purchase RadeonHD driver
  194. updates via the A-EON Technology
  195. website for their Sam460 and
  196. AmigaOne 500 systems. AmigaKit will
  197. also be offering RadeonHD graphics
  198. cards and driver bundles. Please
  199. visit the AmigaKit website for more
  200. details. Customers who purchase the
  201. new driver will qualify for free
  202. upgrades, up to and including
  203. version 1.0 of the RadeonHD driver.
