  15. Nice you found some time to read
  16. through this script, to see what has
  17. been changed in the HVSC and for what
  18. reason.

  20. After this update, the collection
  21. should contain 36,000 SID files!
  22.  
  23. This update features (all
  24. approximates):
  25.  
  26. 678 new SIDs
  27.  
  28. 59 fixed/better rips
  29.  
  30. 573 PlaySID/Sidplay1 specific SIDs
  31.  eliminated
  32.  
  33. 189 repeats/bad rips eliminated
  34.  
  35. 482 SID credit fixes
  36.  
  37. 135 SID model/clock infos
  38.  
  39. 15 tunes from /DEMOS/UNKNOWN/
  40.  identified
  41.  
  42. 10 tunes from /GAMES/ identified
  43.  
  44. 36 tunes moved out of /DEMOS/ to their
  45.  composer's directories
  46.  
  47. 11 tunes moved out of /GAMES/ to their
  48.  composer's directories
  49.

  51. As you can see, a great amount of
  52. files were eliminated in this update.
  53. We decided to remove all the old _PSID
  54. files that have a RSID equivalent.
  55. Those _PSID files were only hacks
  56. meant for digitized sounds to be
  57. played inSidplay1, but not on a real
  58. C64.

  60. The _PSID files will be eliminated in
  61. every future releases as soon as new
  62. RSID versions of the same .sid files
  63. are added. For those still needing the
  64. _PSID files we have put them in a
  65. separate archive:
