  11. How to use it:

  13. 1. To run the setup, you need local administrator's rights on your computer.
  14. 2. Run axr2inst.exe to install the software.
  15. 3. While running installation, xRepath help is started, so that you can read more detail about
  16.    the operation of the program
  17. 4. Once installed, use the program by starting it from windows <Start> menu:
  18.    Start->Programs->xRepath->xRepath.exe
  19. 5. Press <Help> on xRepath dialog for detailed information about how to use it.

  23. General Description
  24. -------------------

  26. xRepath is the first in Intelcad BLITZ! series of standalone power tools for processing AutoCAD
  27. drawings. Its purpose: provide means of easy and fast changing XREF and IMAGE paths in drawing
  28. files throughout the project or entire drives filled with thousands of drawings. The latest
  29. addition allows to create listing of all reference files (XREF and IMAGE type) from all
  30. processed drawings in the form of Excel spreadsheet.

  32. The unique characteristic of this program is, that it doesnÆt need AutoCAD to access
  33. and modify DWG files. Another outstanding feature is its amazing processing speed. Where it
  34. would take about 24 days for AutoCAD batch/lisp utility to load, modify and save 10000 drawings
  35. on a larger project (assuming 3.5 min. /dwg avg.) , xRepath will do that task in a few hours.
  36. And for everyday needs of sending some drawings with xrefs to the client, it will modify your
  37. 100 megabytes of drawings in one or two minutes (instead of few hours with lisp/AutoCAD based
  38. solution).

  40. Starting with version 2.2.0.7 we added support for modifying path of attached IMAGEes and
  41. option for creating database or spreadsheet listing of files referenced by processed drawings.
  42. This last feature will allow you to organize and review reference (XREF and IMAGE) paths
  43. throughout the whole project.

  45. Starting with version 2.0.0.1, xRepath can process drawings from R11 to AutoCAD 2000. Each
  46. drawing after processing is saved in itÆs original format (that is R12 drawing will be saved
  47. as R12, R13 as R13 etc.)
  48. In the next version, to be released in first quarter of year 2000, we intend to add re-pathing
  49. of raster image references.

  51. We are planning to issue in the near future the whole BLITZ! family of DWG tools that can
  52. process thousands of AutoCAD drawings per hour, here are some of them:
  53.  
  54. ╖ scanner for finding corrupted files among thousands of drawings in network directories;
  55. ╖ other programs for unsupervised modifying of files from the list: renaming layers, blocks,
  56.   modifying attributes (eg. revision number) and other named objects throughout the projects,
  57.   detaching xrefs etc. etc.
  58. ╖ collecting specific information (like title block data: title, revision, etc.) and storing
  59.   it in a database.

  76. Limitations of Evaluation (temporary) License
  77. ---------------------------

  79. The restrictions in this version are minimized:
  80.  
  81. * 10 drawings can be processed with each press of <Run> button (rather than 50000 in
  82.   full version, however there is no limit how many times you will run it on different
  83.   sets of drawings.
  84. * specified time limit (2 weeks)after which temporary license will expire. It can be extended
  85.   afterwards, see "How to extend the license" below.

  88. How to extend the license or obtain permanent authorization:

  91. It's easy. All details are provided in xRepath help file. If you tried another version before
  92. and you license already expired, we will extend the temporary license if you contact us by
  93. email with the serial number information (read Help on Temporary License for details).
