  57.  
  58.         This file explains how to install and uninstall POWERdraft
  59.         for AutoCAD R14.
  60.  
  61. 1.1     How to determine the driver's version number
  62.  
  63.         There are several ways to get the version number of this driver.
  64.  
  65. 1.1.1   Using the File Manager or Explorer
  66.  
  67.         Open the properties of the file dselsa14.dll in your driver
  68.         directory with your File Manager or Explorer to read the version
  69.         string.
  70.  
  71. 1.1.2   Using the command 'PdVer'
  72.  
  73.         While AutoCAD is running with POWERdraft configured, you may
  74.         type the command 'PdVer'.
  75.  
  76. 1.1.3   Using POWERdraft Settings
  77.  
  78.         Open the POWERdraft Settings by clicking the 'tool symbol'
  79.         within the ELSA toolbar or by setting up the command 'PdConfig'.
  80.         The index card 'General' holds the current driver version.

  86.         The driver's setup directory contains the following files:

  97. 3       Installation/Uninstallation
  98.  
  99. 3.1     Prerequisites
  100.  
  101.         Please check the following list of requirements to allow
  102.         sucessful installation and usage of this driver.
  103.  
  104.         - operating system Windows NT 3.51/4.0 or Windows 95/98
  105.         - actual ELSA Windows graphics driver
  106.         - AutoCAD R14 already installed
  107.         - an ELSA graphics controller mentioned at the top of this
  108.           README.TXT
  109.         - write access to AutoCAD's main directory and to the Windows
  110.           system directory
  111.  
  112. 3.2     Procedure of Installation
  113.  
  114.         Please make sure AutoCAD R14 is not running.
  115.  
  116.         * Installation from CD:
  117.           Start CDSETUP.EXE in the root directory of your WINNERware CD.
  118.           You can double click CDSETUP.EXE in the File Manager or
  119.           Windows Explorer.
  120.  
  121.         * Installation from floppy disk:
  122.           The POWERdraft installation set consists of several floppy
  123.           disks. Start SETUP.EXE from the first one. During installation
  124.           you will be requested to insert the other disks.
  125.  
  126.         * Installation from a separate directory:
  127.           The POWERdraft directory contains several subdirectories called
  128.           DISK<n>. Start SETUP.EXE in subdirectory DISK1.
  129.  
  130. 3.3     Uninstallation
  131.  
  132.         The install program records uninstall information in the
  133.         chosen program folder.
  134.  
  135. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.  
  137. 4       Configuration
  138.  
  139.         Setup will add the two icons
  140.                 'Configure POWERdraft'
  141.         and
  142.                 'Configure Original Driver'
  143.         to the program folder.
  144.         Using these icons you can configure either POWERdraft or the
  145.         original driver shipped with AutoCAD (CoolWHIP) as the AutoCAD's
  146.         actual display driver. After Setup has completed successfully,
  147.         POWERdraft is already configured.
  148.  
  149.         To reconfigure the original driver, click on the 'Configure
  150.         Original Driver' icon, while AutoCAD is _not_ running. To do so
  151.         for POWERdraft, click on the 'Configure POWERdraft' icon.
  152.  
  153.         If POWERdraft is configured, the ELSA logo will be shown
  154.         at AutoCAD's startup time.

  182.           via the POWERdraft Settings.
  183.         - Display errors with Genius PowerSnap have been fixed.
  184.         - MultiView has been revised regarding its functionality.
  185.         - A crash with AMD 2.0 has been fixed.

  188.         - A regen following a pan or zoom operation on raster images
  189.           left behind a kind of "ghost images" among the real images.
  190.           This problem has been fixed.
  191.         - The POWERdraft Settings have been revised.

  193.         Version 14.00.08(beta)
  194.         - Fixed a crash with Genius standard components.
  195.         - Improved the behaviour of Pan/Zoom via the Cockpit.
  196.         - The Cockpit got a new look.
  197.         - Windows 95 is supported.

  200.         - ELSA GLoria-XXL is supported.

  203.         - Fixed problems with the preview, which is saved within the
  204.           .DWG file:
  205.           * Now in the "Open" dialog the quality of the preview is much
  206.             better.
  207.           * Non-drawing elements are not part of the preview any more.
  208.           * Now the file size is much less.
  209.         To fix these problems with a drawing saved with an older version
  210.         of POWERdraft (V14.00.xx(beta)), you may save this drawing again
  211.         after calling AutoCAD's command PURGE, which will reduce the
  212.         file size to a normal level.

  214.         Version 14.01.01
  215.         - The Cockpit now performs dynamic zooming and panning also
  216.           for models in paperspace.
  217.         - Fully support of subentities. As a consequence of this item,
  218.           a problem with marking sketch planes has been solved.

  316.         - POWERdraft's toolbar loading mechanism changed in order to
  317.           reduce interference with other applications during AutoCAD's
  318.           startup phase.

  320. 5.2     Known Problems and Restrictions
  321.  
  322.         - Raster images will always be drawn beneath the remaining
  323.           graphics.
  324.         - Raster images will not be displayed within the Aerial View
  325.           window nor by MagniView.
  326.         - With the use of raster images the background color may become
  327.           slightly falsified.
  328.         - Together with OpenGL applications (e.g. Autodesk Mechanical
  329.           Desktop) display errors may occur. So far, these errors have
  330.           been observed on a GLoria-XL board only. Such kind of errors
  331.           can be suppressed by turning on the 'Force Buffer Blit' option
  332.           within the 'GLoria Settings' in 'Display Properties'. At
  333.           runtime the display can be repaired immediate by pressing the
  334.           hotkey for the redraw action, <shift><F2> for default.
  335.         - During some commands (PLINE, MLINE, SPLINE) MultiView views
  336.           cannot be recalled.
  337.         - The contents of viewports in paperspace will not be displayed
  338.           by MagniView.
  339.         - Inside a Slide file (filename *.sld, command MSLIDE) TT text
  340.           is always outlined, unless you configure 'Whip Compatibility'
  341.           in the 'TT Fonts' tab of the POWERdraft Settings.
