  4. About the scheme
  5. ----------------
  6. The Supported Shareware scheme was set up by Joe Connor to encourage 
  7. authors of German/French etc software to produce and support English 
  8. language versions of their software AND to encourage UK users to register 
  9. their software.

  11. Benefits for registered users:
  12. - Key to access registered user only features or remove the Shareware 
  13.   Intro screen (some software only)
  14. - Access to the free update service
  15. - Labelled Master disk
  16. - ST-Guide illustrated on-line catalogue of supported software
  17. - ST-Guide on-line help (some software only)
  18. - Selection of other software (dependent on disk space)
  19.  
  20. The Shareware fees are set to cover the currency handling, stationary, 
  21. media and postage costs incurred in mailing out master disks. Support for 
  22. users in other countries is available, details on request, please feel free 
  23. to ask or get involved with translation or support in other countries if 
  24. you are able.

  48. How to register inside the UK
  49. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50. 1)  Check the amount for the software you wish to register
  51. 2)  Make a cheque payable to Joe Connor for the required amount
  52. 3)  Be sure to include your name and address in a legible format!
  53. 4)  Send cheque to UK Address below

  59. How to register outside the UK
  60. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  61. Different arrangements exist depending on the software concerned. There may 
  62. be an alternative local registration point or other conditions so please 
  63. refer to the specific documentation for details.

  65. Update service
  66. --------------
  67. The latest versions are listed every month in the Shareware column of ST 
  68. Applications each month. To receive an update:
  69.  
  70. - Send a self addressed envelope including return postage and a double 
  71.   sided floppy disk. Please state clearly:
  72.  
  73. 1) The software you'd like updated
  74. 2) The version you're currently using
  75. 3) 'Keep' if you would prefer me to retain your disk until a later version 
  76.    becomes available.

  78. Alternatively if you have Internet access you can use 'anonymous ftp' to 
  79. obtain the latest English language release version of all the above 
  80. software from:

  84. Other sites may carry the on-line archive but minor updates to the English 
  85. language version are sometimes made without changing the version number.
