]It is the title of a book edited by the
]MARABOUT EDITIONS, and it is written by
]a guy called J.P.LOVINFOSSE. This funny
]book has been written in French, and in
]it there's a chapter called 'PIRATES DU
]JEU' (Game's Hackers)in which they talk
]about the ST & the AMIGA scene !    The
]only  problem  is  that  it's      PURE
]BULLSHIT !

First I must teel you I've been obliged
to buy this book for 22 Frs, to test it
in this magazine, and I think it is not
worth destroying the forests when it is
to publish pure propaganda! If U want 2
have fun you can also buy it, it's sold
in all the FNAC...

]The first thing you see when U open the
]book it is an advert for the A.P.P with
]phone numbers,Fax, and address ! After,
]a few chapters about industrial piracy,
]the chapter about OUR scene starts !

for obscure reasons, they're no longer

According to what they say the crackers
are a bunch of violent guys.That's true
that THE REPLICANTS, have slagged a lot
(Esp. Snake,Dom,and Maxi) the BIG FOUR.
But the author doesn't know that after,
they reappeared under NOKTURNAL members
of THE EMPIRE.

J.P. LOVINFOSSE does not even know that
QUARTEX were on AMIGA , and he pretends
to know all about piracy...Wot a pity !

One more time bullshit, 1st, the wanted
group was 'PARANOIMIA' and some members
have been  busted really (But, that was
mainly because of drug traffic, not cpu
stuff...). The group QUARTEX have never
stopped his hacktivities at all that is
pure bullshit. Only the members weren't
always the same, there was this period,
after the 'OLIVIER' period, which was I
think, the best period for the group (A
big quantity of great releases,and Giga
cool demos...).Now QUARTEX (Mainly guys
from USA are still active on AMIGA and,
on PC.QUARTEX ST has nothing to do with
the real one , they were just using the
name of the AMIGA legend...
SKID ROW was not at all created with ex
QUARTEX but with ex PARANOIMIA members.
And VALHALLA was a team SKID ROW's been
in association during 2 months only for
modem purposes... So J.P.LOVINFOSSE, do
not talk of what you don't know !

According to this part the author might
have used crack's attempts from TSTD0 ,
when he was in VMAX...

As I'm fed up with writing the sources,
I'll just tell you of what it's talking
about... Here they say that 'MINDSCAPE'
have volountary 'lost' a version of the
game CAPTIVE, during a computer show on
ST and AMIGA. He also says that CLASSIC
on the AMIGA have released, this bugged
version, but that's not true. The proof
is that I have played with this cracked
version and that was very well working.
But that is true that, before they have
done a bugged version but, just because
a checksum has been forgotten !  On ST,
MAXI of THE REPLICANTS cracked the game
really perfectly, and the original, has
been bought in a FNAC.

The most amazing here! It's the part of
the book where they copy an old letter,
signed by 'LE CLUB DES REPLICANTS' or '
REPLICANTS COMPUTER CLUB!'. It has been
published in, the most famous, computer
mag in France called TILT in June 1990.
At the epoch MAXI told me that , he was
100% sure that the letter has been done
by the mag TILT itself to bother them .
It says that: 'LE CLUB DES REPLICANTS',
have done some games , and that they've
put viruses on the original. If, a copy
of these originals were done, your cpu,
would explose because of the viruses !
TILT has tryed 2 destroy THE REPLICANTS
but they failed... Perhaps some guys of
THE EMPIRE were near this article...Who
knows ?!
And in his book J.P.LOVINFOSSE, says an
incredible quantity of shit! By example
that THE REPLICANTS were silly because,
it's not possible to destroy a computer
with a virus or that, it was normal for
them to be pirated, after all what they
have done before ! J.P.LOVINFOSSE is in
conclusion a real LAMER becoz only poor
fellows have believed this letter.
We can see here his low level !


[CONCLUSION
[----------

]J.P.LOVINFOSSE talks on a great subject
]but the problem's that he knows nothing
]about it, he mixes both ATARI and AMIGA
]scenes and try to explain what cracking
]is. The result is poor! The rest of the
]book is about CHAOS COMPUTER CLUB and a
]chapter's also about the hacking on the
]bank-systems... It is quite interesting
]but if its as bullshit as the part I've
]talked about it promises a good laugh !
