  229.  This option allows you to ADD files into

  238.  This option will allow you to add or
  239.  update the compressed file comments.

  243.  are contained in the compressed file

  245.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  248.  This option allow you to specify which
  249.  files to extract from the compressed
  250.  file. You may specify more the one
  251.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  252.  cards are allowed.

  254. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  255.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  256.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  257.  of files in a window.  After the window
  258.  is displayed you tag the files to
  259.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  260.  After all files have been tagged press
  261.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  262.  files.
  263.  
  264. *altg   !!search for string!!
  265.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  266.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  267.  characters using the program SGREP.COM
  268.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  269.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  270.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  271.  completed to results will be listed on the
  272.  screen. A normal or Regular Expression
  273.  search may be performed.  Regular Expression
  274.  searches are always case sensitive!!!!!
  275.  
  276. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  277.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  278.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  279.  of files in a window.  After the window
  280.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  281.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  282.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  283.  key to process the tagged files.
  284.  
  285. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  286.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  287.  files from the compressed file into the
  288.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  289.  via the ALT-P command.
  290.  
  291. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  292.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  293.  and directory of where any extracted files
  294.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  295.  follows:
  296.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  297.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  298.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  299.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  300.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the F9 key.
  301.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  302.  use it's floating extract location
  303.  logic.
  304.  
  305. *altr !!rename highlighted!!
  306.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  307.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  308.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.
  309.  
  310. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  311.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  312.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  313.  the window pops up enter a standard DOS
  314.  file search pattern and press the enter
  315.  key.
  316.  The display will be repositioned to the
  317.  first or next file that matches the
  318.  pattern.
  319.  
  320. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  321.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  322.  the tagged file display line at the
  323.  bottom of the screen.

  326.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  327.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  328.  of files in a window.  After the window
  329.  is displayed you tag the files to
  330.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  331.  After all files have been tagged press
  332.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  333.  files.

  336.  This option will display the master
  337.  comment record and the file comment
  338.  records for the selected compressed
  339.  file.

  342.  This option will extract ALL files from
  343.  the compressed file into the current
  344.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  345.  the ALT-P command.
  346.  
  347. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  348.  This option allows run a program against
  349.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  350.  to enter the program name to run, the
  351.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  352.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  353.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  354.  to pause after each execution of your
  355.  program.
  356.  
  357. *altz  !!virus check!!
  358.  This option will check files to see if they
  359.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  360.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  361.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  362.  and have used the configuration program to
  363.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  365.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  366.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  368. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  369.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  370.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  371.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  372.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  373.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  374.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  375.  compressed file contents screen.
  376.  
  377. *c  !!create-new!!
  378.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  379.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  380.  to enter the
  381.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  382.  compressed file to create, whether you
  383.  want to add or move files into the new
  384.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  385.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  386.  new compressed file.
  387.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  388.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  389.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  390.  PAK files!!!!!
  391.  
  392.  You will also be asked if you want to
  393.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  394.  the entered file spec as is.
  395.  
  396.  If the compression program you choose
  397.  supports saving path information you will
  398.  also be asked if you want to save
  399.  directory information, and if you want to
  400.  recurse the directory tree.
  401.  
  402.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  403.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  404.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  405.  information that can be stored inside the
  406.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  407.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  408.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  409.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  410.  
  411.  
  412. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  413.  This option will delete all tagged files
  414.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  415.  asked to verify the delete before the
  416.  files are actually deleted from the
  417.  compressed file.
  418.  
  419. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  420.  This option will extract all tagged
  421.  files from the compressed file.
  422.  
  423. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  424.  This option will activate the alternate
  425.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  426.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  427.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  428.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  429.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  430.  
  431. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  432.  This option will set the compressed
  433.  file's time and date to the time and
  434.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  435.  the compressed file.
  436.  
  437. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  438.  This option will untag all currently
  439.  tagged files.
  440.  
  441. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  442.  This option will tag all files in the
  443.  currently displayed window.
  444.  
  445. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  446.  This option will convert a self
  447.  extracting file back to its native
  448.  compressed file format. The self
  449.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  450.  The normal compressed file will be
  451.  built on the same drive and directory
  452.  where self extracting file is found.
  453.  
  454. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  455.  This option allows you to copy all
  456.  tagged files from the current compressed
  457.  file into another compressed file.  The
  458.  target compressed file may be any
  459.  currently supported format.
  460.  
  461. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  462.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  463.  drop you off into disk and directory
  464.  that is specified as the extract
  465.  location.
  466.  
  467. *d  !!delete one file!!
  468.  This option will delete the currently
  469.  highlighted file from the compressed
  470.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  471.  delete before the delete is actually
  472.  done.
  473.  
  474. *e  !!extract one file!!
  475.  This option will extract the currently
  476.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  477.  drive and directory, or the
  478.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  479.  the ALT-P command.
  480.  
  481. *f      !!freshen!!
  482.  Using this option you can specify the
  483.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  484.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  485.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  486.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  487.  extensions.
  488.  
  489. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  490.  This option will temporarily exit to
  491.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  492.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  493.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  494.  the return key.
  495.  
  496. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  497.  This option will temporarily exit to
  498.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  499.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  500.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  501.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  502.  
  503. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  504.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  505.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  506.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  507.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  508.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  509.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  510.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  511.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  512.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  513.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  514.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  515.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  516.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  517.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  518.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  519.  
  520. *f8  !!edit!!
  521.  This option will allow you to edit a
  522.  file in the compressed file.  This
  523.  option will only work if you specified
  524.  an editor to use when you configured
  525.  compressedPER.
  526.  
  527. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  528.  Using this option you can specify how
  529.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  530.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  531.  Extension, Date, Size, or Unsorted.
  532.  
  533. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  534.  This option will allow you to set the
  535.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  536.  programs.  When you set the compression
  537.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  538.  change it again.
  539.  
  540.  
  541. *g  !!password!!
  542.  This option allows you to specify the password
  543.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  544.  compression program does not support passwords
  545.  an error window will appear informing you that
  546.  the option is not supported.
  547.  
  548. *i  !!show info!!
  549.  This option will show information about
  550.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  551.  files in file, total size of all files,
  552.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  553.  
  554. *m     !!mode!!
  555.  Using this option you can specify the
  556.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  557.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  558.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  559.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  560.  extensions.
  561.  
  562. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  563.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  564.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  565.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  566.  the compressed display heading line.
  567.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  568.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  569.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  570.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  571.  
  572. *p  !!path options!!
  573.  This option allows you to specify if you
  574.  want to save and/or use path information
  575.  when working with compressed files.
  576.  
  577. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  578.  This option will immediately exit
  579.  SHEZ.
  580.  
  581. *r  !!run a file!!
  582.  This option will extract and run the
  583.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  584.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  585.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  586.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  587.  deleted.
  588.  
  589. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  590.  This option allows you to add and or
  591.  update the comment records associated
  592.  with the currently highlighted file.
  593.  
  594. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  595.  This option allows you to add and or
  596.  update the comment records assocaited
  597.  with each file in the compressed file.
  598.  
  599. *t  !!test compressed!!
  600.  This option will test the integrity of
  601.  the compressed file.
  602.  
  603. *u       !!update!!
  604.  Using this option you can specify the
  605.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  606.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  607.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  608.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  609.  extensions.
  610.  
  611. *v  !!view!!
  612.  This option will allow you to view the
  613.  contents of a file in the compressed
  614.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  615.  to view the file.
  616.  
  617. *z  !!mask!!
  618.  This option allows you to specify a file
  619.  mask to be used when displaying the
  620.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  621.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  622.  only the files having an extension of C
  623.  will be displayed on the screen.
  624.  
  625. *maltd !!view 4dos!!
  626.  This option will display the 4DOS or
  627.  NDOS file descriptions that are
  628.  maintained by the DESCRIBE command.
  629.  SHEZ can only handle a description
  630.  file that is 30,000 bytes or less.
  631.  
  632. *maltu !!update/add 4dos!!
  633.  This option allows you to update/add
  634.  NDOS/4DOS file descriptions to the
  635.  highlighted file.
  636.  This option only functions if you
  637.  are running under NDOS/4DOS.

  639. *mtab !!open second file window!!
