  1. 802.2 Default Frame Type
  2.  
  3. Novell's new Ethernet ODI drivers default to the 802.2 frame
  4. type. Older Ethernet drivers default to the 802.3 frame type. The
  5. change to 802.2 allows compatibility with, and greater
  6. connectivity to future products. Frame types on the server and
  7. workstation must match.

  9. Driver frame types can be changed from default to another frame
  10. type by using the FRAME command in the workstation NET.CFG file
  11. with a valid frame_type parameter.

  14. ETHERNET_802.2
  15. ETHERNET_802.3
  16. ETHERNET_II
  17. ETHERNET_SNAP

  19. When using the workstation driver (802.2 frame type) found on the
  20. included diskette make sure that your server uses the same frame
  21. type. The server LAN driver frame type can be configured by using
  22. the FRAME =frame-type parameter when loading and 
  23. binding the server driver.
