Two things can happen if we do not supply the body with the food it requires:
Undernutrition - this is the result of not eating enough food. Undernourishment eventually leads to death by starvation. Starvation usually takes a long time, you can live without food for about three weeks.
Malnutrition - this is the result of not eating the right types of food. Some people have only enough food of the wrong type to eat. If your diet is made up of rice only, you will not get enough vitamins and minerals.
