  6. SkyGlobe 2.5 is  a fast, fun, and easy  astronomy program. It
  7. uses either  a CGA, Hercules,  EGA, or VGA  graphics adapter,
  8. and can  be configured to  use as little  as 128K of  memory.
  9. SkyGlobe 2.5  supports screen printouts  on Epson-compatible,
  10. Proprinter-compatible,  or  LaserJet-compatible  printers. It
  11. displays 15,000  stars and the  positions of the  planets, as
  12. well as constellation lines. The  best feature of SkyGlobe is
  13. its  blazing speed.  It was  programmed entirely  in assembly
  14. language, which allows it to  generate up to several displays
  15. a second, depending on computer system and screen complexity.
  16. Typical displays take less than  a second on even the slowest
  17. of   PC-compatibles.   All   display   features   are  easily
  18. user-configurable,  typically  with  a  single keystroke. For
  19. instance, all  that is needed to  Zoom in is for  the user to
  20. press  'Z',  or  'Shift-Z'  to  Zoom  out.  It's that simple!
  21. Viewing direction is  just as easy to change  with the use of
  22. the cursor keys.  Viewing location can be chosen  from a menu
  23. of over  230 locations worldwide.  An Auto-Increment mode  is
  24. available that lets the user  watch the movement of the stars
  25. for a night or a year. For educational users, SkyGlobe 2.5 is
  26. the best  way to watch the  patterns of the planets,  such as
  27. retrograde  motion, or  to learn  why we  don't have eclipses
  28. every month. A few keystrokes  are sufficient to see when the
  29. moon  is favorably,  or unfavorably,  placed for  a night  of
  30. star-watching. But the best description of SkyGlobe 2.5 is to
  31. use   it!  Just   make  sure   the  files   SKYGLOBE.COM  and
  32. SKYGLOBE.DAT  are  in  the  currently  active directory, type
  33. SKYGLOBE, and let the fun begin!
