V1.302 Changes [ Official second release 02.07.1993 ]
--------------
o Changed maximum number of subpatches that make up a patch to 24.
o Fixed bug that was causing textures to be placed incorrectly on height
fields.
o Added a waterlevel slider, wireframe waterlevel display and orientation
arrows to heightfield primitive.
o Added the generation of automatic bounding boxes from the object
editing menus. There is a NEW button next to the CLR BOUND button
that will create a bounding box that encompasses all the objects
belonging to the object being edited.
o Added SpotLight primitive.
o Made the resolution (subdivisions) of the sphere, cylinder, cone, torus
and spotlight configurable (CFG file, under WireFrameDivs).
o Exchanged the Labels on the FRONT and SIDE views, as they were
incorrect.
o Changed the tabbing through the transformations to be cyclic, i.e. if
you tab on the last one (TransZ) you're then placed on the first one
(scaleX). Same is true for Shift-Tab in the other direction. Only Enter
or Esc can quit this.
o The name of the selected object is also saved in the MDL file. When you
load your scene again later, the object that was selected when you
saved will be automatically selected.
o Changed the output of transformation parameters of textures to be in
the POV file, instead of the INC file.
o Added code to check how long redraws of the 3D window take while moving
the camera and to then shut off redraws if they take longer than a
number of ticks (1/18s) in the CFG file (under CamRedrawLimit).
o Also added this timing check to normal objects when moving them. If
redraws take longer than a time specified in the CFG file, MORAY
attempts to display only part of the object. For some objects this only
works if the object has a bounding box. Bezier patches are shown with a
coarser subdivision. This is then displayed while moving the
object. (CFG file, ObjRedrawLimit)
o Added the possibility of 'locking' movement in certain dimensions. By
pressing either 'X', 'Y' or 'Z', the transformations in these
directions can be either locked or unlocked (toggle). If the movement
is locked the locked component of the cursor position at the lower
left corner is shown in square brackets.
o Added cursor position display and dimensionlocking to the bezier
editor.
o Changed Alt-S to call the Object Browser instead of toggling snap. Snap
must now be enabled from the Options menu (Alt-O).
o Added ABOUT box.
o Improved the error colors for the 16-color version.
V1.300 Changes [ Released to Beta testers 06.06.1993 ]
--------------
Bug fixes:
o Fixed the bug that was causing the program to not recognize empty
directories.
o Fixed the bug that was causing the program to not correctly recognize
all online drives (similar bug as above).
o Limited the number of active drives to 9. This caused the FILES menu
to behave erratically when more than 9 drives were present (by SUBST,
for example).
o Made NEW from the FILES menu clear the name of the file.
o Improved automatic renaming when merging files.
o Fixed cosmetic bug that caused bounding boxes to sometimes obscure
other objects in the object browser.
o Patches are now highlighted when selected.
o Redraw after Texture list editing now redraws correctly.
o Changed default ambient value of texture to 0.1.
o Compiled MORAY with floating point emulation on.
o Added missing 'crand' keyword and value in texture block.
o Fixed bug that caused MORAY to crash if more than 13107 edges are
generated in a scene.
Improvements/enhancements:
o Different levels of objects in the Object Browser can be blended in
and out by Alt-n where n is 1 to 9, specifying the level. Alt-0 blends
in all levels.
If an object has children that are not shown, a line with an boxed
asterisk on the end is attached to it.
o Added default name generation in textures, objects and cameras. The
line-editor is initialized with an unique name, which you can simply
accept.
o Added code to let you enter more than one transformation value in the
main menu, without redrawing inbetween. Use TAB to jump to the next and
Shift-Tab to jump to the previous value. Press Enter when done so that
the redraw can take place.
o Added code to do the same as above in the COPY menu.
o Added SnapValues keyword in CONFIG section of CFG file.
o Added possibility of saving the selected object, without Cameras,
lights, etc. FILES menus now has a SAVE SEL button.
o Added Alt-N (or just 'N') hotkey in Object browser to let user change
the name of the currently selected object.
o Added confirmation of the registering information and result display.
o Changed the way files are exported. Textures are now output to an extra
file called scene.INC, where scene is the name of the MDL and POV file.
When exporting, the INC file is scanned for textures and if textures
that are being used in the current scene are not found, they are
appended to this file. Otherwise they are not exported. To avoid
writing a complete POV parser<g>, MORAY scans for lines with a fixed
format containing: $MRY$: 'txtrname'
You can thus edit the texture in this file and MORAY will leave them
alone.
o Added a 16-color graphics driver for standard VGA and VESA cards. Looks
pretty good, considering it's only 16 colors<g>.
o Added a simple undo capability to the transformations. The very last
transformation the selected object underwent can be undone.
o Changed the drive letter boxes in the FILES menu to stay depressed
when selected.
o Removed the extra stage when creating pre-defined textures. The list of
textures are now on the same screen as previously the OPAQUE etc.
textures.
o Textures now appear in the texture edit menu listbox as they are
created.
