  5. Since the publication of our last comparison document, a lot has
  6. been happening in the world of networking.  We have released
  7. LANtastic v4.1 and the LANtastic(r) for Windows(tm) v4.1 utility.  
  8. Novell has released version 1.1, and now Microsoft has released 
  9. Windows(tm)for Workgroups.  Artisoft has also recently released 
  10. LANtastic(r) for Macintosh(r) and LANtastic for TCP/IP.  These 
  11. products, along with LANtastic for NetWare(r), form the core of our 
  12. connectivity series.

  14. This document covers the new features of LANtastic version 4.1 
  15. and provides competitive information about Windows for 
  16. Workgroups and NetWare Lite 1.1.  Also included is a guide to 
  17. help you sell the LANtastic Network Operating System into wider 
  18. environments.

  20. Version 4.1 of LANtastic has a redesigned NetBIOS that makes the 
  21. system almost 30% faster than version 4.0.  We've added resource 
  22. caching, faster printing, more convenient network management and 
  23. many other improvements.  PC Magazine likes what we did and 
  24. awarded us their Editors' Choice Award for the fourth year in a row.

  26. With LANtastic for Windows, users enjoy the ease and benefits of 
  27. Microsoft(r) Window's graphical user interface.  LANtastic for 
  28. Windows allows all network management, monitoring and 
  29. configuring tasks to be done within Windows.  LANtastic's 
  30. compatibility with Windows includes DDE across the network and 
  31. support for OLE.
