  2. MAIN MENU HELP

  5. This is the LOWER's Business Solutions (LBS) MAIN
  6. MENU.
  7.  
  8. THE CLIENT DATABASE SHOULD ALWAYS BE FILLED IN FIRST
  9. AND KEPT CURRENT.  IT IS USED BY ALL OTHER DATABASES.
  10.  
  11. OVERVIEW is on the menu bar of the application you go
  12. to.  This provides a high level view of the
  13. application you are in.
  14.  
  15. HELP is also on the menu bar.  HELP will describe the
  16. use of each selection or key on the menu bar.

  18. Press F1 to gain access to the engine program Alpha
  19. Four's help
  20.  
  21. Press CNTL/F10 activates a calculator within LBS.
  22.  
  23. Press, after exhausting normal means, ESCAPE to leave
  24. a screen, to back out of most screens, or to cancel a
  25. selection.
  26.  
  27. Controlling the business is easy with the FULL
  28. version of LBS.  The TRIAL version is the same as the
  29. FULL version except it is limited by the amount of
  30. records that it can hold (100 records per database),
  31. and some information is supplied minimally. This
  32. is LBS way of allowing you to purchase and try the
  33. program in your business before making a decision.
  34. Purchase the FULL version, knowing it will work and
  35. do the job for you.

  37. Many reports are provided both for business status
  38. and for tax purposes.
  39.  
  40. Please feel free to contact me to see about
  41. enhancements you would like to see or changes you
  42. might find useful. Remember, we do not want our
  43. programs to tell you how to run your business. We
  44. want the program to provide you with information so
  45. you can knowledgeably run your business.

  47. LBS application is written to help you run your
  48. business in the simplest of ways, making the
  49. following assumptions.

  51. BUSINESS CONSIDERATIONS:
  52. 1) We have found a paper calendar the best to use. 
  53. Advantages are instant access to the calendar with
  54. the computer turned off or during power outages.
  55. Changes can be make if lightly penciled in. Please
  56. feel free to let us know if we should incorporate a
  57. schedular/calendar in this LBS program.

  59. 2) A paper receipt register is used. The forms are
  60. three-part with a yellow copy going to the customer,
  61. the pink copy stays with the contract, and the white
  62. copy is put in the register storage area. The white
  63. copy is then entered into INCOME. A receipt is filled
  64. in for each income transaction.

  66. 3) A two-part contract (job order) is keep for each
  67. job. All payments made will have a pink receipt for
  68. each payment made by a client attached to the
  69. contract. The original is kept by the business.

  72. COMPUTER CONSIDERATIONS:
  73. That you have an IBM (or compatible) personal
  74. computer with 640K RAM. Additional memory beyond 640K
  75. as expanded (EMS) or extended (XMS) memory will
  76. improve this program's performance.  If you choose to
  77. run this program on a standalone computer you will
  78. need one floppy diskette drive and a hard drive. DOS
  79. 3.3 or above is supported. If you wish to run this
  80. program on a computer connected to a local area net
  81. (LAN), the network must be either Novell or NetBios
  82. compatible and must support the DOS 3.1 record and
  83. file locking protocols. This program can be run from
  84. diskless workstations connected to the network. This
  85. program supports the following video adapters:
  86. monochrome, Hercules, CGA, EGA and VGA. With a VGA
  87. monitor, you will have access to many more color
  88. choices for the program screens. A printer is
  89. recommended, but not required. Dot-matrix, letter
  90. quality and laser printers, including Postscript
  91. printers are supported.
