  17.                   1. Introduction to YOUR-PLAN

  20. YOUR-PLAN is an easy-to-use software package for preparing a personal 
  21. budget and cashflow projections for six months ahead. It can be used 
  22. to improve the management of your finances by forecasting your income 
  23. and expenditure. The resulting budget can then be used to improve your 
  24. financial planning & control and, ultimately, to save yourself money. 
  25.  
  26. Based on your estimates and assumptions, YOUR-PLAN compiles a detailed 
  27. and summary budget for up to a six months ahead. It also produces 
  28. reports analysing the budget and detailing all your underlying 
  29. assumptions on income and expenditure. YOUR-PLAN incorporates facilities 
  30. for graphing key results; overwriting assumptions by actuals; undertaking 
  31. 'what-if' analysis; and rolling-forward assumptions and projections one
  32. month at a time.

  34. The supplied software is 'shareware'. In return for registering, a user 
  35. receives a much more powerful version called PERS-PLAN, a 90-page A5 
  36. spiral-bound manual and access to support. The cost of registration is 
  37. only £29 (29 pounds) or US$44 inclusive of VAT and p&p.

  43. The following guidelines assume that you have already installed
  44. (i.e. copied, unzipped, unarchived, uncompressed etc.) the complete 
  45. set of YOUR-PLAN files onto a hard disk.
  46.  
  47.      a) Get into the sub-directory where you have installed
  48.         all YOUR-PLAN's files. For example, if the sub-directory
  49.         YOUR was used, type "CD YOUR" and press RETURN at the 
  50.         DOS prompt.
  51.  
  52.      b) Type "GO" to access an introductory menu system.
  53.  
  54. For more detailed information about YOUR-PLAN, refer to the text 
  55. file called README.TXT.
  56.  
  57. If you wish, you can run YOUR-PLAN as a DOS program within Windows. It 
  58. is supplied with an icon called YOURPLAN.ICO.
