Re: External Protocol Setups
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Everybody,
Here is how I've setup several protocols in Communiqué. They are
working fine in v1.00.
Protocol: Puma
U/L...... Puma.exe B+ E*B N+ P1 X+ s *U*G
D/L...... Puma.exe P1 X+ F- B+ A+ D+ O- R+ r *D
Protocol: HS-Link
U/L...... HsLink.exe -P1 *U*G
D/L...... HsLink.exe -P1
Protocol: Lynx
U/L...... Lynx.exe s /*B /1 /L /S *U*G
D/L...... Lynx.exe r /*B /1 /R /D /S *D
Protocol: Zmodem MobyTurbo (DSZ)
U/L...... Dsz.com port 1 pB4096 ha both sz -m *U*G
D/L...... Dsz.com port 1 pB4096 ha both rz -m *D
These ones are working fine for me here. If you've got any other
working protocol setups, please share them in the COMMUNIQUE
conference.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
U/L is the upload path and D/L is the downlaod path.
Most external protocol setups should look like this in the
Communiqué SETUP/EXTERNAL PROTOCOLS menu:
Name : Zmodem MobyTurbo
Status : Active
Selection Key : 8 (ie. the M in "MobyTurbo")
Redraw Screen : On
Upload Commandline : Dsz.com port 1 pB4096 ha both sz -m *U*G
Download Commandline : Dsz.com port 1 pB4096 ha both rz -m *D
If you have succesfully installed any third party protocols not
mentioned here please notify one of the support bulletin boards
listed in the document SUPPORT.DOC in the Communiqué archive or
in the Communique documentation.

Hi Adam,
Below are the setups of the three external protocols I'm running
and some hints which might prove useful for beginners in telecom-
munications.
Communiqué External Protocols - Examples
************************************
Following the example of Alexandra Barbara, here is how I have
setup several external protocols in Communiqué version 1.10.
Name : MobyTurbo GSZ
Status : Active: Auto-Download OFF
Selection Key : 1
Redraw Screen : On
Upload Commandline : Gsz port 2 pB4096 sz -m *G
Download Commandline : Gsz port 2 pB4096 rz -m *D
Auto Download String :
If you want to use GSZ for downloads you will have to disable
the Auto ZModem in Communiqué. Please also note, GSZ will accept
paths for up- and download in the registered version only.
Name : HS-Link
Status : Active: Auto-Download OFF
Selection Key : 4
Redraw Screen : On
Upload Commandline : hslink -p2 *G
Download Commandline : hslink -p2
Auto Download String :
Name : BiModem
Status : Active: Auto-Download OFF
Selection Key : 1
Redraw Screen : On
Upload Commandline : bimodem /B *B /L *C /N *U /U *G
Download Commandline : bimodem /B *B /L *C /R *D
Auto Download String :
Please note the spaces in the BiModem setup!
Please carefully setup the configuration of the individual transfer
protocols themselves, e.g. the download directory in HS-Link as
otherwise the files might not arrive where you expect them to.
I have setup the upload and download directories in Communiqué, the
metacommand *G in the upload commandline in HS-Link and GSZ will
therefore suffice.
All three setups are working with several BBS'.
I haven't activated the Auto Download with the above protocols for
several reasons:
GSZ: Normally the internal ZModem will do the job. Only if a BBS
specifically offers MobyTurbo I will use GSZ.
HS-Link: I haven't found out yet how to keep using HS-Link for
bidirectional loading if auto download is active. Contrary
to BiModem I can't add files to up- or download once the
program is running.
BiModem: I haven't found out how to enter space and backspace
in the Auto Download String. Further the feature of adding
programes whilst BiModem is already running, is available
in the registered version only, i.e. using the unregistered
version will cause the same problem as with HS-Link. Already
this feature makes it worthwhile to register BiModem.
The fastest and most secure protocols are HS-Link and BiModem.
Although it was more difficult to set BiModem up it is my personal
favourite, because of two features the other programs - even
HS-Link - don't show:
- you can add programs to up- or download whilst a up- or down-
load is running
- you can have a file verify done after the transfer is completed
Joachim
