6.30 Product update
-------------------
General information:
- The TBAV-for-Windows version has been improved significantly.
Get TBAVW630 for more information.
- The user manual has been updated.
TBAV:
- TBAV-for-Windows introduces the .SCN files. These are user
configurable files which contain lists of paths you frequently
want to scan. Currently the Windows installation program generates
automatically a few of these files, like a Local.Scn (all local
drives), Network.Scn (all network drives), Drive_A.Scn (drive
A:), etc. depending on your configuration. Since these files are
fully configurable, the DOS TBAV menu will present them in the
path menu when you want to scan. If there are no .SCN files,
TBAV will present the old-style path menu with predefined
non-configurable selections.
Note than you can also create .SCN files 'manually', just create
a DOS ASCII file which contains all drives or paths on separate
lines. The format of these files is the same as the original
TbScan 'path list' files.
Note that you can also specify the .SCN files on the command line
of TbScan by preceding them with the '@' character.
TbScan:
- Solved a few bugs, eliminated a few heuristic false positives.
- TbScan now checks how long you have been using TBAV without
registering. If this time period is too long, TbScan will warn
you about that. If you want to re-evaluate a newer version of
TBAV, without receiving the warning, you can reset the time
counter by removing TBAV ENTIRELY (including items like all
Anti-Vir.Dat files) from your system, and performing a new
initial installation.
TbFile:
- When you rename an executable file to a non-executable file
TbFile no longer crashes the system in some environments.
Viruses:
- Changed signatures:
Alexander.1843/2104 Now also detects the 2104 variant
Beer (com) Now detects two new variants
DP_1 Eliminated a false positive
Ilja Eliminated a false positive
Intruder Now detects two new variants
