What This Diskette Does
-----------------------
The Video Features Diskette I for OS/2 enables the drivers to:
- Improve the drawing performance on the display.
- Provide higher resolutions (up to 1024x768).
- Provide various color depths (256, 64K, or 16M).
The following models are supported:
- ThinkPad 760C, 760CD, 760L, and 760LD
- ThinkPad 760E and 760EL*
- ThinkPad 365X and 365XD
Notes:
For 760E system users:
If your display (LCD) is an SVGA (800x600), please install
this diskette.
*For 760EL system users:
If your machine type is 9547-x4G 9547-x4K or 9547-x4T, please
DO NOT install this diskette. Please install "Video Features
Diskette II for OS/2" for your system. (VFTPKOS2)

- (Fix) Automatic color setting has been added for the LCD mode.
If the user's setting cannot be set on the LCD, the display
driver automatically sets the color depth.
- (Fix) The OS/2 full screen now expands to 800x600 resolution.
- (Fix) The screen no longer corrupts during the save-and-restore
operation in a DOS full screen with a configuration of
800x600 resolution and 16 colors.
- (Fix) The screen on the external monitor (CRT) now synchronizes with
the LCD when the DOS window session changes to the 40-column
full-screen mode.
WIN-OS/2 version
- (New) Support for ThinkPad 760L, 760LD, 365X, and 365XD.
- (New) Support for the mouse trail in a WIN-OS/2 full screen.
- (Fix) Color graduation no longer corrupts when the PowerPoint 4.0
is used with 64K colors.
- (Fix) The text input frame for PowerPoint 4.0 now disappears when
the focus is changed to other windows, when 64K colors are .
used.
- (Fix) Samples of patterns are now displayed in the dialog box of the
Format-Cells menu, when Excel 5.0 with 64K colors is used.
- (Fix) Patterns can now be drawn in rectangles, when Ami Pro 3.1
with 64K colors is used.
- (Fix) Samples of patterns are now displayed in the Fill Pattern
dialog box, when Ami Pro 3.1 with 64K colors is used in a
WIN-OS2 seamless session.
- (Fix) 1024x768 resolution with 256 colors is now displayed on the CRT
when a ThinkPad computer with Pentium 120M Hz is used.
- (Fix) A Windows general protection fault no longer occurs
when a 16M-color bitmap is opened in Paintbrush, when 256
colors are used.

- (New) Support for ThinkPad 760E, 760EL, 365X, and 365XD.
- (New) Support for LAN installation (CID).
- (Fix) The CRT no longer becomes a virtual screen when the
Presentation Manager desktop switches from a full-screen

- (Fix) The mouse pointer no longer corrupts during the return to
a WIN-OS/2 full screen from the OS/2 desktop, when 16M colors
are used.

- (Fix) The font is fixed when big fonts are displayed
in Freelance 2.1's ScreenShow.
- (Fix) A Windows general protection fault no longer occurs
when a bitmap is opened using FoxPro.
- (Fix) (DSTN models only)
A blackout no longer occurs during the return to the desktop
with 64K colors, when the display device was switched to
LCD from CRT in a DOS full screen.
- (Fix) A Windows general protection fault no longer occurs
during printing with a Hewlett Packard DeskJet series printer.
- (Fix) A blackout no longer occurs during the return to a
WIN-OS/2 full screen, when the resolution was changed
and the display device was switched to CRT from LCD
in the OS/2 desktop.
- (Fix) A Windows general protection fault no longer occurs
when a PC/3270 for Windows Version 4.1 with 256 colors is used.
Installation Guide
------------------
1. Turn on the computer and start OS/2.
2. Set the display device to LCD only.
3. Insert the ThinkPad Video Features Diskette I for OS/2 into
the diskette drive.
4. Open an OS/2 window or a full-screen command prompt.
5. Type A: at the command prompt and press Enter.
6. Type INSTALL at the A:Æ> prompt and press Enter:
A:Æ>INSTALL
7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
8. After the installation is complete, remove the diskette, shut down
OS/2, and restart the computer.
