  1.               GALAXY version 4 QUEUE help file
  2.  
  3. To enter a queue request, type:
  4.           queue-name:jobname=file1,file2,...
  5.  
  6. The default job name is the same as the first file name.
  7.  
  8. To list the queues, type:
  9.           
  10. output-filespec/LIST=queue-name:job1[user1],job2[user2],...
  11.  
  12. Default queue is LPT:.
  13.  
  14. To create a batch request, type
  15.           INP:jobname=control-filespec,log-filespec
  16.  
  17. Default jobname is the filename of the log file.
  18. Default control file extension is .CTL.
  19. Default log file extension is .LOG.
  20.  
  21. When listing the queues, the  default  listing  filespec  is
  22. TTY:.LSQ.  Queue-name defaults to all queues.  If queue-name
  23. is ALL:, all  queues  are  listed.   Queues  at  a  specific
  24. station  can  be  listed  by referring to queue xxxSnn:  for
  25. station  nn  (e.g.   LPTS3:   or  ALLS17:).   Queues  for  a
  26. specific  device can be refered to by giving the device name
  27. (e.g.  LPT2:).

  29. Wild  card  "*"  matches  any  name,   entension,   project,
  30. programmer, or SFD.  Wild card "?" is wild for one character
  31. only.
  32.  
  33. The switches to the QUEUE, PRINT, PLOT, CPUNCH, TPUNCH,  and
  34. SUBMIT commands are:
  35.  
  36. /ABEFORE:date-time       Include only files accessed  before
  37.                          date-time.
  38. /ACCOUNT:qqq             Specify an account string.
  39. /AFTER:date-time         Process request after the specified
  40.                          date/time.
  41. /ALLFILES::yes-no        Require all files to exist in order
  42.                          for   the   queue   request  to  be
  43.                          created.
  44. /ASINCE:date-time        Include only files  accessed  since
  45.                          date-time.
  46. /ASSISTANCE:yes-no       Specifies whether or  not  a  batch
  47.                          job     will    require    operator
  48.                          intervention.
  49. /BATLOG:keyword-list     Specify  creation  of   batch   log
  50.                          files.   Keyword  may be one of the
  51.                          following:
  52.                          APPEND - append to the  end  of  an
  53.                          existinglog file (default);
  54.                          SPOOL  -  create  a  temporary  log
  55.                          file, print it and delete it;
  56.                          SUPERSEDE - supersede any  existing
  57.                          log file.
  58. /BEFORE:date-time        Include only files  created  before
  59.                          date-time.
  60. /BEGIN:ddd               Begin processing file on the ddd-th
  61.                          line  for  batch  jobs  and  on the
  62.                          ddd-th page for line printer jobs.
  63. /CARDS:ddd               Batch job  punched  card  limit  is
  64.                          ddd.
  65. /*CHECK                  Same as /LIST:CHECK.
  66. /COPIES:ddd              Make ddd copies of this file.
  67. /CORE:ccc                Set batch job core limit to ccc.
  68. /CREATE                  Create a new request.
  69. /DEFERRED                Process   all   deferred    spooled
  70.                          requests  now.   You  must  include
  71.                          either /CREATE or /KILL  with  this
  72.                          switch,  to  create  or  cancel the
  73.                          queue requests.
  74. /DELETE                  Same as /DISPOSE:DELETE.
  75. /DENSITY:keyword         Set  listing  file  tape   density.
  76.                          Keywords  specify the density (200,
  77.                          800, 1600,  6250  and  INSTALLATION
  78.                          (default)).
  79. /DEPENDANCY:ddd          Set batch job  dependancy  to  ddd.
  80.                          On  /MODIFY  requests,  if a '+' or
  81.                          '-' precedes ddd, add  or  subtract
  82.                          ddd from the current value.
  83. /DESTINATION:nnn         Specify  the  node  to  which   all
  84.                          output will be sent.
  85. /DISPOSE:keyword         Specify file disposition.  Keywords
  86.                          are:
  87.                          DELETE  -  delete  the  file  after
  88.                          processing;
  89.                          PRESERVE - don't  delete  the  file
  90.                          (default);
  91.                          RENAME - rename the file  into  the
  92.                          spooled  area  when  the request is
  93.                          created,  then  delete   it   after
  94.                          processing.
  95. /ERBINARY                Generate an error message  if  user
  96.                          attempts to queue a binary file.
  97. /ERNONE                  Generate an error message if a file
  98.                          is not found.
  99. /ERPROTECT               Generate  an  error  message  if  a
  100.                          protection failure occurs.
  101. /ERSUPERSEDE             Generate an error  if  the  listing
  102.                          file  already  exists.  Reserve the
  103.                          specified number of blocks  on  the
  104.                          listing file.
  105. /EXIT                    Exit from QUEUE.
  106. /*FAST                   Same as /LIST:FAST.
  107. /FEET:ddd                Set batch job paper tape  limit  to
  108.                          ddd feet.
  109. /FILE:keyword            Specify file format.  Keywords are:
  110.                          ASCII - ASCII fle (default);
  111.                          COBOL - sixbit COBOL file;
  112.                          ELEVEN - PDP11 file;
  113.                          FORTRAN - FORTRAN data file.
  114. /FORMS:sss               Specify type of forms to be sss.
  115. /GENERIC                 Process request on  any  device  of
  116.                          the appropriate type.
  117. /[NO]HEADER:yes-no       Include banner for a file.
  118. /*HELP:keyword           Prints  help   on   the   terminal.
  119.                          Keywords are:
  120.                          SWITCHES - print only switches;
  121.                          TEXT - print this text (default).
  122. /JOBNAME:sss             Specify a job name.
  123. /KILL                    Kill (delete) this request.
  124. /LENGTH:min:max          Include files  whose  blocksize  is
  125.                          within the range of min to max.
  126. /LIMIT:ddd               Output request limit is ddd  (feet,
  127.                          pages, etc.).
  128. /LOWERCASE               Print this  job  on  a  lower  case
  129.                          printer./LST:keyword            List jobs in queues.  Keywords are:
  130.                          ALL - detailed listing;
  131.                          FAST - fast queue listing;
  132.                          JOBS - list jobs (default).
  133. /METERS:ddd              Set batch job paper tape  limit  to
  134.                          ddd meters.
  135. /MESSAGE:keyword         Set the verbosity level of messages
  136.                          output.  Keywords are:
  137.                          ADDRESS - type  out  address  where
  138.                          message occurs;
  139.                          CONTINUATION     -     type     out
  140.                          continuation text if any exists;
  141.                          FIRST -  type  out  first  line  of
  142.                          message;
  143.                          PREFIX -  type  out  six  character
  144.                          message prefix.
  145. /*MODIFY                 Modify an existing queue request.
  146. /[NO]NEW:yes-no          Include this file in a request even
  147.                          if it doesn't yet exist.
  148. /NOTES:qqq               Annotate output message with qqq in
  149.                          header.
  150. /[NO]NOTIFY:yes-no       Request   notification   when   job
  151.                          completes.
  152. /[NO]NULL:yes-no         Don't  generate   a   fatal   error
  153.                          message   if   no  files  in  queue
  154.                          request.
  155. /OKBINARY                Allow   binary   files   in   queue

  157. /OKSUPERSEDE             Don't  generate  an  error  if  the
  158.                          listing file already exists.
  159. /[NO]OPTION:option-name  Scan DSK:SWITCH.INI[,]/PHYSICAL for
  160.                          lines  with  QUEUE:option-name  for
  161.                          switches.
  162. OUTPUT:keyword           Specify   batch   job   log    file
  163.                          processing.  Keywords are:
  164.                          ERROR - print file if job  ends  in
  165.                          error;
  166.                          LOG - print log file (default);
  167.                          NOLOG - never print a log file.
  168. /PAGES:ddd               Set batch job printer page limit to
  169.                          ddd pages.
  170. /PARITY:keyword          Set  listing  file   tape   parity.
  171.                          Keywords are:
  172.                          EVEN - set even parity;
  173.                          ODD - set odd parity (default).
  174. /PATH:[directory]        Run batch job from [directory].
  175. /PLOT:keyword            Specify     plotter     processing:
  176.                          Keywords    are:    ASCII,   BINARY
  177.                          (sixbit);  IMAGE (default).
  178. /[NO]PHYSICAL:yes-no     Ignore  logical  device  names   on
  179.                          LOOKUPs and ENTERs.
  180. /PRESERVE                Same as /DISPOSE:PRESERVE.
  181. /PRINT:keyword           Specify     printer     processing:
  182.                          Keywords    are:     ARROW,   ASCII
  183.                          (default);  OCTAL;  SUPPRESSED.
  184. /PRIORITY:ddd            Set request priority to ddd.
  185. /PROCESSING:nnn          Specify  the  node  where  a  batch
  186.                          request will be processed.
  187. /PROTECTION:ooo          When listing queues to a file,  set
  188.                          the  file  protection to ooo.  When
  189.                          creating queue  requests,  set  the
  190.                          protection  level of the request to
  191.                          ooo.
  192. /PUNCH:keyword           Specify  card   punch   processing:
  193.                          Keywords  are:  026, ASCII, BINARY,
  194.                          BCD, and IMAGE.
  195. /READER                  Submit  a  card  deck  on  disk  to
  196.                          SPRINT for processing.
  197. /REPORT:code             Print   COBOL   report   file    by
  198.                          outputting  every  line that starts
  199.                          with "code."
  200. /REQUESTID:n             Specify the  request-id  number  of
  201.                          the  request  to  with  /MODIFY  or
  202.                          /KILL.
  203. /[NO]RESTART:yes-no      Specify whether the batch  job  may
  204.                          be   restarted   after   a   system
  205.                          failure.  Default is /NORESTART.
  206. /RUN:filespec            Run the specified program after the
  207.                          request is processed.
  208. /RUNCORE:ccc             Run the specified program with  ccc
  209.                          core.
  210. /RUNOFFSET:ooo           Run the specified program  with  an
  211.                          offset of ooo.
  212. /SEQUENCE:ddd            Specify a sequence number ddd.
  213. /SINCE:date-time         Include only  files  created  since
  214.                          date-time.
  215. /SITGO                   Submit a card deck on disk to SITGO
  216.                          for processing.
  217. /*SPACING:keyword        Specify spacing on a print request.
  218.                          Keywords   are:    DOUBLE;   SINGLE
  219.                          (default);  TRIPLE.
  220. /STREAM:n                Specify the stream to be  displayed
  221.                          in listing queue entries.
  222. /[NO]STRS:yes-no         Scan each structure  for  duplicate
  223.                          files.
  224. /TAG:sss                 Start batch processing at tag sss.
  225. /TAPE:keyword            Specify    paper     tape     punch
  226.                          processing.   Keywords  are:  ASCII
  227.                          (default);     BINARY;     IBINARY;
  228.                          IMAGE.
  229. /TIME:ttt                Set batch job time limit to ttt.
  230. /TMPFIL:sss:qqq          Create a temporary file sss (either
  231.                          TMP:SSS    or    DSK:   SSS.TMP[-])
  232.                          containing text (qqq).
  233. /TPLOT:ddd               Set batch job plotter time  to  ddd
  234.                          minutes.
  235. /*UNIQUE:yes-no          Allow only one  batch  job  to  run
  236.                          under this PPN at a time.
  237. /UNIT:ooo                Process request on unit ooo (LPTooo
  238.                          if a print request).
  239. /UPPERCASE               Print this  job  on  a  upper  case
  240.                          printer.
  241. /VERSION:vvv             Set the version number  of  listing
  242.                          files.

  244. Switches of the form /*xxxxxx are unique to  one  character.
  245. The asterisk is NOT part of the switch name.

  247.                      Argument formats:
  248.  
  249. ccc       Core argument:  decimal followed by optional K  or
  250.           P.
  251. ddd       Decimal number followed by optional K, M, or G.
  252. nnn       Sixbit node name or octal node number.
  253. ooo       Octal number followed by optional K, M, or G.
  254. qqq       Possibly quoted string:  either  alphanumerics  or
  255.           'sixbit'  for  any  64-character set graphics with
  256.           quoting character doubled to represent itself.
  257. sss       Sixbit string of alpha-numerics.
  258. ttt       Time in seconds, hhmmss, or hh:mm:ss.
  259. vvv       Version number in  standard  DECsystem-10  version
  260.           format.
  261. yes-no    Switch arguments may wither be NO, YES, 0 (no), or
  262.           1  (yes).   In  addition,  the  switch name may be
  263.           preceded  by  NO  to  negate  its   action   (e.g.
  264.           /NOxxxxxx instead of /xxxxxx:NO).
  265.          date-time  A  specific   or   relative   date-time
  266.           combination  with the date components separated by
  267.           a dash and the time  components  set  off  by  and
  268.           separated  by  a  colon.  The date can include the
  269.           year.  The time can include seconds and minutes.
