COMMENT:Bad science is about those scientists "who through no fault other than their own, nurture bizarre misconceptions, arrive at totally wrong conclusions and promulgate incredibly stupid theories." The topics are divided by category of theory, such as Views of the Universe, the Sun, Moon and Planets, Comets, Meteorites, and so on. There is a chapter on Ignorance and Persecution, and on Modern Bad Astronomy as well. The intended readership is mostly amateur astronomers who have an interest in the history of the field, with a slant towards odd personalities and ideas, but it should appeal to skeptics with an interest in the history of scientific ideas. One criticism is that Bad Astronomy is heavily slanted towards ridicule, without much exploration of the motivations that lead to the idea. This does keep it short and entertaining, but it is bad as a reference source.
