COMMENT:Dedicated "To the good people of the <A HREF=http://www.csicop.org/>Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal</A>," the book is a collection of essays, originally published between 1971 and 1982. Part I, "The Religious Radicals", starts with "The Army of the Night," a scathing attack on creationism, and continues with other essays on the new religious right. Part II, "Other Aberrations," covers assorted pseudoscience. Part III, "Population," contains three essays about the population explosion. In Part IV, "Science: Opinion," Asimov expresses some of his opinions on such topics as technophobia, the regulation of science, and the fascination of science. Part V, "Science: Explanation," contains some typical Asimov explanations of various areas of science. In Part VI, "The Future," Asimov offers some speculations about the future of science and society. The content of Part VII is explained by the title "Personal."
