COMMENT:Part of the "Opposing Viewpoints" series, which reprints articles on both sides of an issue. As such, it is a well intentioned effort, but superficial in the end. The pro-paranormal side is invariably either fixated on denouncing skeptics, propounding fallacious beneficial arguments, or defending Geller (<a href="/bib/372">D.S. Rogo</a>), the Rhine experiments (J. Mishlove), or some other dead horse. But the skeptical material often comes across as flat, and given the common estimation of reliability of testimony, and the inclusion of things like a do-it-yourself ESP test as a "critical thinking activity," this book might just reinforce paranormal beliefs in the readership it is intended for.
