COMMENT:This could use an index, and the nature of the book as a collection of diverse articles, papers and book reviews also makes it difficult as a reference. Otherwise well worthwhile -- Hyman, a psychologist, is a prominent critic of parapsychology and knowing his arguments is a must for any serious researcher. Besides critical evaluations of particular psi experiments, including the ganzfeld and remote viewing work, the book also includes his views on how criticism should be conducted. One of the most interesting parts of the book is his essay on "Pathological Science" and the extensive collection of responses it generated, which provide a survey of a wide range of attitudes towards psi and science in general.
