COMMENT:A classic of skepticism, including a gallery of cranks and eccentrics dealing in flat and hollow Earths, weird physics, Bates eye exercises, Reich and his orgone theories, General Semantics, Lysenko's biology and the quackery and bad psi research of the time. It's interesting to note what has gone away, and what hasn't -- nearly all survive, some going strong. For some in the above list, this book is probably the only practically available reference to their incarnation in the 50's.
