Lotto Challenger Revision History: Version 3.1 - October 1989 -------------------------- Original version of the program. Version 3.2 - November 1989 --------------------------- 1. Corrected a bug in the Statistics Summary which caused incorrect averages and percentages to be displayed if a large data file was used. 2. Previously, a number was Overdue if it had not been drawn in the past 10 drawings and if it was in the upper 50% of the number drawing frequency list. Overdue numbers are now numbers which have not been drawn in the past 10 drawings and appear in the upper 25% of the drawing frequency list. Version 3.3 - January 1990 -------------------------- 1. Gave the user the option to change how many drawings are used to determine whether a number is Hot, Cold, or Overdue. If you delete the file LC.CFG prior to running Lotto Challenger, you are prompted on the title screen to enter the number of drawings to be used. The program still defaults to 10 drawings for Hot, Cold and Overdue numbers. Refer to the file LC.DOC for more information. 2. Added the ability to include Bonus numbers in the statistical analysis. A new question concerning Bonus numbers has been added to the Configuration screen. Refer to Chapter 8 in the documentation for more information. Version 3.4 - February 1990 --------------------------- 1. After the user selects a number system to play, the prize guarantee for the system selected is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The user may press ESC to cancel playing that system, or press any other key to continue. 2. The registration form is now printed by pressing F10 on the Lotto Challenger closing screen. 3. The ASP logo was added to the title screen and the program documentation. Version 3.5 - August 1990 ----------------------- 1. In previous versions, if you wanted to add a new number system through the "Edit A Number System" option, you were limited to a maximum of 120 tickets for Pick-5 and Pick-6 games, and a maximum of 100 tickets for Pick-7 games. The maximum number of tickets for Pick-5 and Pick-6 games is now 480 tickets. The maximum number of tickets for Pick-7 games is 500 tickets. In order to increase the maximum number of tickets, it was necessary to increase the size of the number system files WHEEL5.SYS, WHEEL6.SYS and WHEEL7.SYS from 19,060 bytes to 72,280 bytes. The number system files supplied with this version are the correct size. However, if you wish to use an old number system file from a previous version, you must first convert the file. We have provided the file CONVSYS.EXE to convert the old number system files to the correct size. For example, to convert an old WHEEL5.SYS file to the correct size, you would type "CONVSYS WHEEL5" and press ENTER. Remember, it is only necessary to do this if you do not want to use the number system file supplied with this version and want to continue using a system file from a previous version. NOTE: DO NOT run CONVSYS on a system file that has already been converted, i.e. a file that is already 72,280 bytes in size. We recommend that you make a backup copy of all your files prior to running the CONVSYS program. 2. We have added new number systems for Pick-5, Pick-6 and Pick-7 games. These systems range from 4 tickets to over 300 tickets. The file SYSTEMS.TXT has a discussion on why you should use number systems and also describes the Pick-6 systems supplied with this version. To print this File, type "TYPE SYSTEMS.TXT > PRN" and press ENTER. 3. The "Drawing Summary" option on the Drawing Statistics menu has been enhanced to allow you to specify how many drawings to include in the summary. After you select the option, you are asked to enter how many drawings to include. For example, if you enter 50, then the last 50 drawings will be included in the summary. If you don't enter a number and just press ENTER, the program defaults to the total number of drawings minus the number of weeks used to determine if a number is Hot or Cold (normally 10 weeks). For example, if there are 117 previous drawings, the program will default to 107 drawings for the summary. This is necessary because it is impossible to determine if a number is Hot or Cold for the first ten drawings in history. Remember that if you go into the Drawing Summary option prior to using the Quick Picks option, the program will pick your numbers based on the averages calculated in the Drawing Summary. For example, let's say you select the Drawing Summary option and specify the last 50 drawings for the summary. You then press Escape and return to the main menu and select the Quick Picks option. You tell Quick Picks that you want it to select 10 numbers. You then just keep pressing ENTER and Quick Picks will automatically tell you many Hot, Cold, etc numbers to pick based on the averages from the past 50 drawings for these categories.
