~Space Hulk A few hints obtained via Internet Mail. 1) LC's, TH's etc. are completely useless unless (a) The map is very convoluted with few clear fields of fire, or (b) There is a possibility of ambushes I would not recommend taking these into most other missions. 2) AC's are useless unless (a) You are going to have to shoot away some bulkheads, or (b) You know there are only going to be a limited number of Genestealers, or (c) You know there are going to be ammo reloads available in the mission For most missions you will want to equip your Terminators with Storm Bolters and Power Gloves. Take one or two flamers if you know you will have to flame an area: put the flamer in the fourth position in the squad. Tactics: - Use the Pause feature intelligently. You need to get familiar with the controls so that you can issue orders to your squad in the shortest possible time. If you run out of freeze time and have to control a squad in realtime you are dead. - Always assume that a Terminator in hand-to-hand combat is going to die. Avoid this: take on all Genestealers at a distance. The further, the better! - Always have your Terminators covering each other. If you are marching up a corridor then have at least a one square gap between the point Terminator and the rest. In fact, the best marching order is: X..X..XXX ^ point That way, if the point gets eaten the second has enough clear space that he won't be forced into hand-to-hand. - You are a better shot than the computer is. If one of your Terminators is in a firefight then control him manually: you have a far smaller chance of weapon jams. NOTE: this is not true for AC's. Never fire an AC manually, since you will tend to waste far too much ammo. - Cover all possible Genestealer entry points, if possible. Set up overlapping fields of fire and have backup for the Terminators in dangerous positions if possible. Once you have a Genestealer or two in the middle of your formation you're going to start losing Terminators fast... Make sure you can handle the Basic and Advanced training missions before moving on to the tougher ones: you'll need a lot of skill for some of the Deathwing missions.
