You must copy ^1QuickRun onto another disk to take full advantage of all its features. ^1QuickRun^0 is a very small (12K) menu program that can be used equally well on both floppy and hard disk systems. It allows you to quickly select and execute any program or batch file contained on a disk. ^CGeneral Information DOS only allows three types of executable files. You can easily identify these files because of their unique extensions (the three characters in the file name following the period.) The extensions for executable files are "COM", "EXE", and "BAT". QuickRun looks for all files in a directory that carry these extensions. You may select any combination of these types of files QuickRun locates. The DOS "DIR" command conventions are used for this designation. As you may remember, the "DIR" command allows you to specify a search MASK (a template for identifying which type of file to find.) QuickRun uses "*.COM", "*.EXE", and "*.BAT" as the search masks. The asterisk in front of the extension simply tells the program that it doesn't matter what name the file has so long as its extension matches the one specified. ^CQuickRun Menu Screen When you run the program, the QuickRun Menu Screen is displayed. The top line of this screen contains the disk Volume ID and Current Directory. The bottom two lines display Function Key and Help Information. Along the bottom line of the Program Selection box, the active search masks are displayed.
