═══ 1. About Connect Four ═══ The object of Connect Four is to connect four red color pieces horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The game is over when either the player or the computer has connected four pieces or when all squares on the board have been filled but there are no four pieces that are connected and have the same color. Playing the game ═══ Choose New from the Game menu to start a new game and choose the level of play which is either Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Master by selecting the corresponding item from the Options menu. The current level of play is indicated by a check mark left to the menu item. The higher the skill level, the longer the computer spends calculating its moves. Red plays first unless Computer starts from the Options menu is used to make the computer go first. The board is filled from the bottom row up to the top row, so unless you place a piece on a vacant square in the bottom row you can only place a piece on top of another piece. To make a move, move the pointer to an empty square and press mouse button 1. A legal move is indicated by a cross shaped mouse pointer. Choose Hint from the Game menu to obtain a hint on a good move. A beep indicates that the computer has made a move. A tune is played when the game is over. ═══ 3. Note ═══ If a display driver for a monochrome display is installed, the red pieces will be displayed in white color and the blue pieces will be displayed in blue color. Connect Four can also be played on computers that have no pointing device installed or attached. ═══ 4. Copyright notice ═══ Connect Four Version 2.2 All rights reserved.
