Back In A Flash! Command Line Restore Utility Version 1.00 A product of CCT, Inc. 111 3rd Avenue South Minneapolis, MN 55401 (612) 339-5870 General ------- The command line restore utility, CCTREST, is a handy utility for performing a full restoration of a system in the event of a system crash. CCTREST allows a system to be restored after booting OS/2 off of diskettes and formatting the partitions. This is a great timesaver, since without this OS/2 would first need to be reloaded, then Back In A Flash!, and then finally the applications and data. What it is not -------------- CCTREST is a specific utility, and as such it does not have many additional features. CCTREST was designed for the non-swapping, character mode environment present after booting off of diskettes. Therefore, the utility is small and fast. For more full-featured restore capabilities, use the restore built into Back In A Flash!. Setup ----- The only two files needed to use the command line restore utility are the CCTREST.EXE executable file, and CCTCMP01.DLL, the compression .DLL file. These two files together total only about 53K, so they will both fit onto the second OS/2 2.1 boot diskette. Alternatively, if you have used SEBOOT20 or one of the other utilities to create a single OS/2 boot diskette, you should place both of these files onto that diskette. Note that if the device where the backup resides requires a device driver to be accessible (LAN, Bernoulli, Magneto-Optical) that driver must also be on the boot diskette with the appropriate entries in the config.sys file. Usage ----- CCTREST is easy to use. Once the partition for the restore has been formatted, use the following syntax to restore the data to the system : CCTREST [/o] where is the name of the group ('FULL', for example) and location is the full path name to the archive file ('A:\', for example). If some files already exist on the system that should be overwritten, specify the /o parameter. Otherwise, CCTREST will prompt the operator when it trys to restore a file that already exists.
