How do I get past the security guards?

You don't have much time in this part of the game.

It might help to read the plan before you enter the Sludgeworks, and take
note of the access code.

There's only one thing that you can use in this room.  Look at the
control panel.

It first helps to turn it on.

There's a cover on the switch.  Open it first, and then flip the switch.

Now that the panel has lit up, you can enter a code.
