Look on your map for the isolated plain northwest of Piniro.
You must cross the small gap from the north to the south to get there.
Did you bring any grenades? (Save your game at this point!)
Throw a grenade behind the tree to make a bridge.
If you stand on the western edge, the tree won't squash you as it falls.
