| Free-to-air DVB-T terrestrial services are to be launched nationwide in the UK in November 1998. Sweden is expecting to launch its services by the end of the year. A trial consumer DVB-T service by Advent Television has already launched in Singapore (February this year). None of this could happen without a wide range of commercially available equipment. At a recent DVB-T equipment seminar held in Geneva, there was an exciting range of consumer and professional DVB-T equipment, from transmitters to consumer set top boxes, the seminar showed just how market ready DVB-T is. Participating manufacturers included Bosch, NDS, France Telecom, Philips, Mier Communicaciones, IRT, Texas Instruments, Rohde & Schwartz, HD-Divine, LSI Logic, Panasonic, ITIS, SGS-Thomson, NEC, SPaSE, Comatlas, Elettronica Industriale, Motorola, Siemens and WG Multimedia. |
