Martti, OH2BH, reports that preparations are under way for the upcoming 10 day DXpedition. The target date is March 16. So far there are 14 operators on tap for this one. PACIFIC DXPEDITION KC6/KH2/V63. JR6IQI and JK6UER will operate all bands both CW and SSB. Their schedule is Belau from March 13 to 16 as KC6KT and KC6UA; Micronesia from March 16 to 18; and Guam from March 18 to 20 as KH2/JK6UER. SIERRA LEONE AND LIBERIA. Jay, K4ZLE, will be in Sierra Leone until March 10; Liberia between March 11 and 17; and back in 9L-land on March 18 and 19. Operations will be mainly CW on 80, 40, 30, 17 and 12 meters, though some SSB and activity on the other HF bands is possible. He will be active with 9L2SH and AA8NW in the phone portion of the ARRL International DX Contest signing 9L2SH. EGYPT. SU2MT should be on in the phone portion of the ARRL International DX Contest. Also listen for this one on the lower bands and on CW. NAMIBIA. V51GB has been on 14192 kHz around 0615z. Baldur, DJ6SI, and company have been operating V59PI from the former Penguin Islands. Look for V51HK on 24944 kHz at about 1530z; and V51Z on 1832 kHz at 0500z, 7007 kHz at 0600z, and 10100 kHz at 0400z. GUYANA. Larry, N4VA, is expected to be in Guyana on March 4. He will be involved in radio training and putting together a club station with the Guyana Amateur Radio Association. His on-the-air activities as 8R1/N4VA will offer fills for band/country holes. Check the PacketCluster for frequencies. TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS. W2KHM will sign VP5/W2HKM from March 19 to 27 on SSB only. Check 14226, 14247, 21335 and 28495 kHz. Low band skeds can be arranged via internet address athanrrpi.edu. QSL via 15 Eaton Road, Troy NY 12180. ZAMBIA. DL7VTM and crew will be on from March 14 to April 6. They will operate on all bands and modes, including some satellite work, as 9I2Z, 9I2A and 9I2M. Lots of activity is planned for the CQ WPX Phone contest. QSL all three calls via DL7VRO. THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The phone portion of the annual ARRL International DX Contest is a 48 hour event starting at 0000z March 5. W/VE stations work amateurs in as many DXCC countries as possible. DX stations work W/VE stations. W/VE stations send signal report and state/province.
