------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I like EGM but what he is saying is right (some what) I included this .txt file because I believe WE CAN MAKE A DEFERENCE! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SAINT Message-ID: Newsgroup: rec.games.video.arcade,rec.games.video.nintendo,rec.games.video.sega rec.games.video.misc Organization: Indiana University Since almost all of us on internet think EGM has serious problems and no one takes it seriously, someone i know on a BBS came up with this idea. Just to get their attention and make our opinions known, everyone on internet or any other BBS who gets this letter will send the same form letter to the editors. If they get a few hundred of them, they wouldnt be able to ignore them. They would have to respond. This isn't an ego trip for me or anyone else (since i'm just spreading the word to internet from the source person). The goal is to show them how they are now being regarded and possibly change their minds on a few ways they do things. Please help us do this. Just mail the attached letter to EGM at ----------------------- Interface: Letters to the Editor c/o Sendai Publishing Group 1920 Highland Avenue Suite 222 Lombard, Illinois 60148 If you have no problem with EGM or dont want to participate, please ignore and please dont flame anyone. Editor: Like many other video game players, I have lost all faith and interest in your magazine over the past year or two. I feel this way for several reasons: 1. Your articles seem to be written for the very young game player, who has little or no knowledge of the games or the industry. 2. You consistantly print rumors that are totally wrong. 3. You lack informative technical information or interviews for the reader who wants to learn more about hardware or the gaming industry. 4. Your honesty is becoming questionable. Many people have found that hints they have sent into your magazine were printed, but other peoples' names were given as the source. Of course, it is probable that they also sent in the codes, but many people have sent in codes as many as 3 months before they (32 min left), (H)elp, More? were printed (with the credit going to another person). 5. Your Street Fighter 2 coverage is over-done, especially compared to other arcade games of equal or superior quality. The general feeling of many people is that, if it was read in EGM, then it probably isn't true. I realize that you have to market your magazine to appeal to many different age groups and interests. But the purpose of this letter is to make you aware of the opinions of many game players in many age groups, not to force a change. I hope you will consider my opinions of your magazine and possibly work to change for the better. Thanks!
