General
You have just entered
the homegrounds of Software Engineering - Class
of '93 at the University
of Karlskrona/Ronneby in Sweden, and we are currently conducting studies on the
fourth (master) year of the Software Engineering programme. As you
might have figured out, we started out on this programme in the year of
our lord 1993, some of us as freshies,
but most of us as somewhat experienced computer users. But we pretty soon
became aware of the fact that there is alot more to computers than just
using them, and that is developing the systems residing on them. However,
by now we are not only aware of the Software Engineering concept, we are
masters in this kind of engineering!
Goals
The focus of the programme
involves goals that will capture the nature of Software Engineering, both
of today and in the future:
Producing high-quality
software
Knowledge of modern techniques for
analysis, design, and development of software
Basic knowledge in economic and organizational
aspects involved in software development
Important mathematical theories and
their applicability
Gathering knowledge and skills in
the rapidly changing software community
Performing scientific studies
Performing large-scale research of
certain aspects in the software community
All these goals/skills are fulfilled
by passing the courses listed under Skills.
However, during our studies, most of us have gained greater knowledge in
many other areas than those involved in the courses taken. Those skills
are beyond the scope of these pages, so if you are interested in them,
we suggest that you have a peek on the home-pages listed under Addresses.
News
We are
currently conducting our last phase of the programme, and the courses involved
are:
Verification and Validation
Agent Programming
Performance
of Computer Systems - [spe_summary.ps]
